So I saw that Cappelan Confederation is mostly under-represented in MwO. I want to show some decent examples worth to implement (and one... not so much Posted Image ).

So let's begin (texts taken from http://sarna.net).

Lao Hu

Posted Image

Designed by a student at the Victoria Academy of Arms and Technology, the Lao Hu ("Tiger") is based on the Thunder BattleMech and is designed to correct perceived flaws in the Thunder by using new technologies available to the Capellan Confederation. The Lao Hu is built on a lightweight Chariot Type II Endo Steel that carries a GM 375 XL Engine which gives the 'Mech a top speed of 86.4 km/h while sacrificing some survivability for more free weight and a heavier weapons payload. The Lao Hu is protected by an impressive thirteen and a half tons of armor, making it capable of weathering hits from all but the heaviest weapons.

Sha Yu

Posted Image

Based on the Raven BattleMech, the Sha Yu, or "Shark", is one of the first 'Mechs to incorporate the Stealth Armor developed by the Capellan Confederation. The Sha Yu is built on a lightweight Hellespont Type T Endo Steel and is powered by a VOX 280 XL engine that gives the Sha Yu an impressive top speed of 118.8 km/h. The Sha Yu is protected by six and a half tons of Hellespont Lite Stealth Armor, making the 'Mech extremely difficult to hit. The Sha Yu also carries a Guardian ECM Suite as part of its stealth armor in order to protect itself from enemy electronic warfare systems.

Yu Huang

Posted Image

The Yu Huang, named for the Jade Emperor that rules the Heavenly Court in the ancient Chinese pantheon, debuted with the promise from Sun-Tzu Liao that "it shall sit in judgment over a battlefield, meting out justice to those who would transgress against us". To live up to the promise of the Chancellor of the Capellan Confederation, the Yu Huang carries some of the most advanced technologies available at the time of its initial production. The Yu Huang is built on a Chariot Type II Endo Steel chassis and carries a Hermes 360 XL engine that gives the 'Mech a top speed of 64.8 km/h. The 'Mech is capable of jumping up to one hundred and twenty meters with its four Rodan 90 jump jets. The Yu Huang has thirteen double heat sinks to handle its heat load and also has seventeen tons of Star Shell armor, providing the 'Mech with excellent protection.

And here is the "not-so worth the implementation" example. Posted Image

Lu Wei Bing

Posted Image

The Lu Wei Bing is an Assault Class BattleMech first designed in the thirty-second century by Tao Mechworks for the Armed Forces of the Capellan Confederation. Physically resembling a slightly heavier Victor, the Lu Wei Bing's weapons layout also echoes the twenty-sixth century 'Mech. First produced in 3110, the Lu Wei Bing was produced as a replacement production design after the Confederation lost its Shengli Arms Assault 'Mech factories to the Federated Suns during the Victoria War.

Opinions?

I'd buy Lao Hu as soon as it will be available, but...it is unlikely to happen (LB20 in a hand=no chance), plus there are a lot of 75T already...
Sha Yu is quite awesome too.
I'd add Anubis to that list - a near perfect ACH shaped IS light.

Why's the http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Men_Shen missing from that list?
  • 3060
  • capellan
  • all the electronic warfare

The ballistic slot could get moved to shoulder/ST easily.

Then it would be another marauder. Not really that interesting.
Although, I'd buy it even with AC20 instead of LB20.

I throught to include it too, along with Duan Gung. But I was a bit out of time :(

The problem is: IS OmniMech. I would see it as hell, but the XL Engine problem though...

I could go for a Sha Yu, or even a handful of them. I love the look of these Mechs, not to mention that they are basically Jump Jet Stealth Mechs with some good recon abilities. It would give those of use who enjoy Medium Mechs a nice flexible option.
