Oceanic still looks very red from the rest of the world. And maybe not many people is aware of the improvement yet.

Well alot of EU/NA players on principle don't enable Oceanic. I see it on all the NA/EU streamers. NA streamers in particular enable only NA.

There are problems with the Oceanic server... alot of us are being kicked from the gameserver and dumped back to the mechbay and have our mechs locked but no way to return to the match (says "mech is locked and cannot be taken into a game"). Mechbay says it's ingame but there's NO GAME to rejoin.

Perth to Perth traffic is going through Sydney.

A lot of pings across the board on Oceanic also seem to be a lot higher than usual.

Someone might want to check up on how its being configured.

Does your ISP have a PoP in Perth?
Mine goes through Melbourne and back because my ISP doesn't have a PoP in Perth.

I can ping 60ms to Singapore from Perth. Check with your service provider.

What are you pinging? Is it a resi IP or some random server in a Singapore data-centre?

Haven17 which ISP are you on? I'm not surprised by your Oceanic ping, but for NA you shouldn't be getting 300+.

AWS. But that eliminates the cables being down.

Pinging AWS in SG is kinda meaningless from a player perspective. You can ping/traceroute all the major CDN servers in SG and get great pings from elsewhere in the region, but it doesn't reflect at all the situation with residentials.

Pinging from Singapore here, the ping to the oceanic server in perth is higher than the NA one. 300 ms to oceanic, 230 to NA. That cant be right.

Tracing route to 45.121.208.130 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms LINKSYS02408 [192.168.1.1]
2 5 ms 6 ms 4 ms 182.55.231.2
3 4 ms 4 ms 5 ms 182.19.151.18

17 * * * Request timed out.
18 297 ms 297 ms 297 ms 45.121.208.130

Any ideas on what can be done about this? How do you find out where the problematic hop is? I mean, it just says requet timed out with no info.

MWO tech support basically just said they cant do anything about bad hops or routing issues.

You went from Singapore to USA (San Jose, Palo Alto, San Fran, Portland) then to Sydney, then to Perth where the Oceanic Server is. Half-way around the world. Is it Starhub Fibre?

Ping was in excess of 350ms in the past and has made a remarkable improvement to 80ms recently.

Out of boredom I tried again to test all 3 servers, all 3 still have problems unresolved. I did not ice the OCE was different than when I last played 3 years ago. Searched forums and found this, tested to this AUS server, still a problem on it and I am not even entering from NA to Australia through either Sydney or Perth, seems to be a third route in.

Can anybody explain how this happens? 3/24 below 250 ping

More servers are great, but they should be used logically..

(edit) had to figure out the convoluted image posting on MWO.
