Did not expect this one. A slow 60 tonner with good hardpoint locations but it does have Masc to get to the 86kph that it needs to keep up with normal fast Clan heavies. However, this one is not an omni so upping the engine should be an option. If Masc can be removed there should be lots of open tonnage for weapons and heatsinks. Hmmmm only 3 cannon variants so PGI must be planning on inventing a few if they are going to maintain their normal Mech pack offerings. Does provide the Clan with a second 60 ton Mech.

I love the lore bits that they released in the other thread. I wish every Mech came with a back story. I guess they did that to introduce the hero variant.

Please do not let this mech have ST hitboxes similar to the Sun Spider.

Also, glad to see a Clan Battlemech rather than an Omni, swapping the engines and such will be fun. I like it.

At first I was concerned that some variants didn't have both endo and ferro, and then I compared the engine size with engine max size listing. Whoops, yeah, it's a battlemech and not an Omni so you can fit it with whatever you want. It's an interesting design but the first thing I look at is its target profile. Those arms are kinda wide and thick, and the side torsos appear to be very easy to separate for targeting.

I think for those players who really like the Ebon Jaguar but wished they could do some other basic changes that were blocked by it being an Omni will really enjoy this one.

Interesting choice, didn't expect this one. On the other hand clans need another 60t mech, and MASC coupled with 360 max engine rating sounds interesting.

because the Lupus is an entirely different mech? remember the Lupus was an Omni, one of the first made, in fact.

the Hellfire was the testbed for heavy lasers, and it was based off of the Lupus. however, all Hellfires were complete rebuilds of the Lupus that removed its omnitech.
