If you're such a bad *** why aren't you in a laser piranha.. lets see those 1000 damage matches in those...

OP you're screaming into the wind here on the forums, the players here like their broken advantages and do not intend to give them up easily.. Exploiters never do..

I love how they try to pass it off as skillz lol

Any half-decent player in any half-decent 'mech can rack up 1k damage matches in the right conditions. The enemy team being full of spuds isn't an exploit, it's natural conditions in QP.

Buy the Piranha, put up those scores, and then claim OP.

I have matches in QP with >2000 damage with better mechs than the Piranha... like the Cheeta. I don't have a habit of screenshotting all my good matches, which is unfortunate.

I own the piranhas i don't run them because the machine gun ones are stupidly overpowered..

There should be ghost heat for more than 6mg or something. I do see people do 1k in other lights but its usually from well known really strong light pilots. Everyone and their mother seems to be able to 1k in piranha. Purely subjective anecdotal point of view, but I see the fishies get 1k more often than all other lights combined

Funny I'm a light IS brawler/ smr bomber and hardly touch mg's aside from my firestarter but I will still fight for them, as I've seen potatoes whine and **** before to get their way because lights can utterly slaughter them if they are able to flank and PGI have nerfed pretty much every other viable weapon system to cater to ****wits who roam away from the blob or bring slow mechs and are not prepared to deal with consequences for doing so. No one claims it's skill, lights are the vultures of the battlefield and will rip to shreds anything they are able to get their grubby mits on. The trick is not to be in such a position to be ripped to shreds so stay with group never be in the back and have situational awareness so don't get sniped. That takes a ounce of common sense what is too much for some so they forum warrior to get people to play their way.

Yes it's annoying when your open but at that point you should be 2nd line and watching flanks more than pushing to easily scare away the vultures anyway and while I've been raked by pir's before it's usually when the team has broken and reds are mopping up than when fight could go any way. It's a fact of life just like heavy gauss insta gibing mediums and below or having a ac 40 to the face and the ever popular 80 alpha strike were the **** did my armor go laser vomit builds.

The funny thing is.... as a light player I am more scared of a Locust than I am a piranha. I also seem to perform better in the locust 2nd to the quirks as well as the durability vs the piranha. Sheesh all the hate for a decent light mech. Seriously every time there is a light mech that can hold its own the hate is strong

Yet you do not see all the lights who get one shotted coming to the forums screaming for nerfs. Heck if we did those would be the only threads you see that's how often it happens.

4 minutes and 31 seconds... it usually takes 1-3 minutes to even see an enemy. You see the assaults and heavies with less than 100 damage including myself? We were killed before we could even respond. You will notice he also handily out-damaged the 100 ton mech that is in the running for best assault mech in the game, with 80 less tons.
Bring back knock down.

Problem solved.

You will have talk to Paul about that.

And it will only help you with new light pilots. Rarely do I put myself in a position to be knocked down by the enemy. Most light pilots don't either.

The whole "I don't play X because its OP, pls nerf X" mentality is always held by people who have no idea what they're talking about seeing as they never played X in the first place to know its weaknesses.

Go ahead and try out your Piranhas, the lowest health mech in the entire game whose claim to fame is speed and 12 machine guns. It takes positioning, timing, and lots of caution to play one of them well, and even then you still might just be oneshot by someone who happens to fire in your direction. There's many builds that you just look at on sensors and have to decide to not go anywhere near, dual LBX20 builds for example. Unlike lights like the Wolfhound, the Piranha is also vulnerable to SSRMs, so even people who can't aim can easily blow the mech to pieces. Not only this, but other light mechs kill the Piranha if they're also running their optimal builds.

I have seen first hand what good light pilots can do in MWO PGI does not know how to balance there game so I will give them a little clue from MechWarrior4 Mercenaries it is a simple fix for light OP domination of MWO.

The simple fix is like they did in MW4 make assaults -Heavy's more (agile) they move faster and turn faster so hitting lights become very easy. This does not fix everything in MWO because of terrible sever lag or exploitation but a assault or heavy pilot has a 50/50 chance to win the 1v1 battle with a light.

Get-gud BS in MWO is what try-hards say but a lone assault or heavy that his team has left behind is almost a 99% death sentence.

If your assault has less armor on its back than a light's leg you're doing it wrong. Seriously its funny to watch videos of youtubers like molten metal, the beef, ngng or some other fairly popular mwo player and see when they run assaults a lot of them have under 10 back armor when they show the lad out build.

If I had their skill with assaults I'd run 15 armor just as a what if. As I am the worst assault pilot in the game rarely using them except for the yolo I'll stick with my op locust.

....yes.....lone assault left behind is 99% death sentence, I think that's how it's supposed to be

lights op is a joke, although I do think mg piranha performs better than it should, especially for it's weight

>light op domination in MWO

>exploitation
>getting left behind by team in a heavy mech
>heavy/assault only has a 50-50 chance to beat a light after your proposed changes

Honestly even if you're getting left behind in an assault mech, you just need to learn to position. I can drive Annihilators and manage to be up front when fights are starting, just don't be AFK at the beginning of the match and take optimal routes. If the team is nascaring then cut corners.

If you won't git gud, you won't stick with your team, and you won't pick a class you can play decently, then why not at least just throw some streak srms on your mech and put your back to a wall if a light comes by? Besides this, why not just play lights if they are so OP in your opinion? Besides all this, if someone else decides to git gud and you don't why should we listen to you and nerf the mech they're using, they clearly put some effort forth and won because of that while you didn't and lost fair and square.

This is generally a bad idea since most people shoot you in the front, not the back. If you're running 15 armor in the back, then I have heavies that can out tank your assaults frontally.

You say that, and yet, I've NEVER NOT seen a light pilot, good, nor bad, avoid jamming their faces into the legs/*** of a larger 'mech AT LEAST ONCE during any attack the heavier 'mech can actually respond and attempt to fight back.

We NEED knock down since PGI has nerfed rear firing weapons because, <tear drop rolling down cheek> 'Programming is hard...'

Crimany, they could have created rear firing, automated lasers/MGs/SRMs, that work like like AMS but only fire at any enemy 'mech within range to provide some of that same 'table top' feel we had 'mechs that had REAR firing weapons and/or 'ARM FLIP'.

Instead they've nerfed the living shite out of torso pitch and yaw range and speed, and on some 'mechs made it damn near impossible to aim at anything of a certain height inside a certain range of their 'mech because in order to see the target we'd need to move the goddamned minimap...

So yeah, easiest answer: Bring back knock down...
