You do realize the queue of 0 lights doesn't mean people aren't playing them? There's usually 2-3 lights per game. Usually, often, I don't know what's the average...

But because lights are less played than others, there's less lights waiting for a game, because the MM tries to have 4 of each class.

The 8 MG Mist Lynx???? When was that EVER called OP? First of all, it was a case where it was a cbill release. Second of all, it's arm is incredibly easy to shoot off, unless you want to facetank all the time. So it had HUGE vulnerability issue. PiR literally had none of those weaknesses.

You mean other than exploding when someone actually hits the thing? Shucks, even MLX's can take a few hits. A PIR I get a lock on is a kill in 2 salvos, less if he's in my 300m sweet spot for damage. The PIR is normally saved by being a fast, small target but anything that negates that evasion (read: Streaks, ATMs, standing still while anyone is looking at you) pulps the poor thing.

It's real OPness is the fact that so many pilots ignore lights as a threat: That is, blatant failure to accept reality.

Yes Sooo OP

And a longer version

And This is how you deal with Piranha's

Again.... the issue are the fatties are mostly clueless and make conscious decisions that gimp themselves against any light mech and then come to the forums when they get ganked by a perceived OP one.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

that last vid is sooooo accurate! and im not talking about the SRM's the PIR is easily countered by so many different things. AIM being the biggest one. what are the main thing PIR's feed off of? out of position assaults that skip leg day so they can carry bigger guns. That is the meat of it. just a few days ago i solo killed 2 ANH with the 2hgauss and med laz build. they skimped on leg armor and got wrecked due to the fact that they were away from friendly that could have been giving them supporting fire.

Want the PIR to be combat in effective? stick with a buddy, dont skip leg day, be in better positions, and learn to aim... thats it.

Correct me if I am wrong but should the perfect match have 3/3/3/3 rule, or did that change during my last hiatus?

And I know exactly what the queue numbers mean in regards to who is looking for a match. Funny thing is it will be less than 5% and I still have to wait 2 to 3 minutes to find a match.

Yeah of course it can't have 4 of each since that would make it 16. And it doesn't try to force it but it clearly has a preference for it.

Well lights require a certain skill set which a majority of the player base lacks. IE simple tactics like using the terrain to keep hidden and not cresting a ridgeline were the enemy is likely going to be looking. Proper flanking as well as a concept of possible threat to a team certain mechs could be.

The other thing a majority of the player base lack is proper mindset. IE Patience, most will just run in thinking their not going to get ripped up and will run right though the enemy instead of coming up with a good exit strategy if things get hairy. As well as courage to make a move when it needs to be taken. Part of this is due to people being extremely antisocial and turning off coms, muting people or just giving a ____ .(you fill in the blank).

1000 people online.

110 lights.

108 pirhana, 1 cheetah and 1 jenner trial mech.

Pirhana's over 10% of mechs online...OP!

Nothing wrong there, amirite?

Seriously, I can make loosely supported numbers and percentages make any point I want. Maybe people shouldn't?

Lights take a lot of skill so only good mechwarriors pilot them very much. We have all seen heavy lurmboats getting 1k damage piloted with feet. But in the hands of a good pilot lights can kick ash.

Its ok op you have no morales, it fine some of us do though.. And i use other lights all the time.. I like lights i just don't like abusing the game for no reason..

Plus using abusive piranhas all the time would skyrocket my stats and psr up and i don't want that, i like my stats as they are..

No need to over exaggerate non-existent issue. Lights get lower % because they demand very particular playstyle. You are very squishy and one-two lucky shots can end you right there. Pilot needs to be on his toes whole match and literally never stop moving. Sometimes I have mood for stuff like that, but usually I prefer slower gameplay, it's just a general preference is all, nothing OP or UP about it. You either like it or not.
And yeah, having good match in Light beats having good match in any other weight category in terms of fun factor.

What playstyle haha.

Run to where team reds nascar tail is.....kill ppl.

Its so easy that thats prolly the reason ppl dont play lights and fast mediums. No real challenge. But great way to make it look like you are the boss winning stats and all dwl.

Easiest way to win stats and farm cbills. YOu dont even have to engage ppl. you just shoot them in the back. One after another.

Nascar is why fast mechs are op in mwo. Really op.

I don't spend a lot of time watching that counter, but that's the first time I've seen it drop to 0% for any weight class... ;P

The matchmaker basically starts looking for 3/3/3/3, but quickly releases requirements to allow a match to form(at low player densities, this is more of an issue). With such a small percentage of the population being Lights, that rule can safely be considered tossed out the window. It probably manages to get 1 or 2 lights into most matches, which is honestly all most teams need, even from a competitive standpoint.

If you're queueing as a Light with numbers like that showing, during peak hours, you should get near instant matches.
