There's some notes about it here.
Basically, the MW4 version of the Mad Dog/Vulture is called the 'Mk II' but it only differs cosmetically. Not a lot of canon details about it.
There is also the newer Mk III and Mk IV versions, but they are all of Clan manufacture, although produced by Inner Sphere based Clans.

I am sure someone used a brain and logic at some point to say what I am about to type... but I'll say it anyway. Needs to be a reasonable realistically priced pack for multiple mechs. Something like a one time purchase per account deal, where one can get 2 mechs (possibly of their choice) for every tier (from light to assualt) so a new person can find their place and playstyle quickly to get settled in. The price would have to be reasonable like no higher then 40.
This pack which I am considering buying (only after I play some more and see if I like the game enough) would be my literal first and last purchase ever.
PS why sell a 6 pack with a potato/trash bin mech?

If not in MW:O what game are you talking about? TableTop? Yeah, this ain't tabletop simulator. So if your looking to play stock mechs against other people live your gonna be at a serious disadvantage.
Then again, New guy coming in hot and raging with salt thrusters on maximum flow...

MWO is not tabletop. It will never be. The sooner you understand this the less you will suffer.
Urbanmechs get +50% armor on EVERY location except head. That's equivalent to 3 tons of FREE armor on top of their default (which is as much as a 45-ton mech would normally carry). Their compact shape means they're smaller than many other light mechs (and much smaller than 45-tonners, making them even harder to kill). Their torso rotation is 360* - you can literally shoot directly at your back while running away, and you can dogfight like a champ.
And, of course, their reputation means that people keep underestimating them.
The usual builds involve ditching the heavy AC they come stock with, installing a maxed out XL engine and boating MLs/SLs/SPLs/MGs.

Kinda infantile to assume cursing is automatically salt. The pricing is poop / poo / **** that is fact. The way the in game currency is handled is purely greedy (sadly seemingly now a staple of f2p games). From my googling this deal is the only pro new player and player retention move they've done store wise. I honestly wish to know if they have done better or will do better... I doubt it but still ask anyway.

Don't think I have seen any? Only lights I recall seeing are mostly locusts I think. I KNOW this ain't the table top. I know this! BUT I am new thusly the current data I have possession of is limited so I turn to what l know and currently can associate it with. If it is actually that well defended for a light I shall correct my perception of it.
MGs?? From my testing and efforts and from what I have been told MGs in this game are the meme/joke POS weapons? Range is limit and damage is ****. Why use MGs?

your right. Don't take MG's. LB-2X are so much better.
Also, use normal clan autocannons.

The urbie is legit, my best game ever was a 1600 damage carry job with...the K-9. an Urbie in the hands of someone who can abuse the 360 twist and low profile can carry hard. do not underestimate them, ever.

Free to play games tend to be something like that. Not everyone is buying stuff, yet there's many times as many potential players. What happens is a free to play game relies either on underhanded tactics to force people to buy things or in the case of more honest games, rely on those that have some spendable cash to help keep the bills paid, the lights on and the development going so that the game can be enjoyed by anyone that picks it up, regardless of if those people spend a penny on it.
I'm not the happiest with what PGI has done with the Mechwarrior series. But in terms of what they've done with the free to play model, lets just say... the only models I seen that was more fair than this one seems to be is that of War Thunder and Warframe. And honestly War Thunder has the same model, it just doesn't "push" it as hard to let you know there's things to buy.
Considering how many free to play games I have played, that is saying a lot.
Yes I'd prefer a one and done 60 dollar game, but if any past MW game has been an indication when you do that, you get maybe 16 mechs to play with... and very little in the way of things to fix any ongoing issues, and then the servers shut down so you can't play anymore after a few years.
Far as this pack, honestly the mechs aren't all that bad. They just aren't bringing anything really "unique" to the table. Its pretty hard considering that there's over 300 mech variants in MWO, there's just...nothing really unique left to bring. Not unless PGI actually listened to some of the stuff people asked for in the past, like sized hardpoints to make sure that mechs stayed unique enough to warrant a unique experience and weighable comparison of the Warhawk and Marauder IIC, without "this one does the same as that but better." They couldn't do the same thing, had there been a sized hardpoint setup, and thus they would remain unique mechs unable to copy each other.
Thing is many of the Solaris pack's mechs... are built of canonical mech pilots and their mechs. Whom in turn made their mechs out of existing mech variants. The Kraken for example is just a modified Atlas K. The Firestarter hero... is based off of an unnamed Capellan Mafia member and it just happened to be the same as PGI's made up Ember in terms of weapons, so a 'swap' was done in hardpoint positions. Not sure which one originally had the swap though.
PGI already made the Legend Killer, which is the Rifleman that won 7 Solaris VII championships in his Rifleman. As such the Rifleman made is very similar to it, but given they already did it they tweaked it a bit. People would cry if it was outright "better" than the Legend Killer, one given that the Legend Killer's pilot Gray Norton was the best Rifleman pilot to have ever lived, and two... why buy a 15 dollar hero when you can get a better one in a 20 dollar pack?
Most of these are either identical to their existing builds or slightly tweaked since the "real" one is already done.

Urban mechs...
They tend to be incredibly armored lights that either make or break games, both in the source and in MWO. These 360 degree spinning running turrets can get reasonably fast in MWO, and still pack some of the meanest punches you can fit in 30 tons . Though their canonical armor superiority is hard to show in MWO due to the way the mechlab allows far too much freedom, the quirks makes them nearly invincible in the right situations.

They're not joke weapons if you boat enough of them and use them when appropriate (read: NOT against armor). Why do you think ppl are screaming "PIRANHA OP"?
