I'm not sure if it's been asked before or not, but wasn't the 'Street Cleaner' known as the 'Street Sweeper' when the Solaris 7 was announced?

*edit* And if so, why the name change?

Figured there might be legal reasons. But Street Sweeper is a very common name for everything from a brand of truck, to a common name for a shotgun, to a mechanoid security robot from Final Fantasy 7.
UM-SS Street Sweeper Themed as the UrbanMech utilized by an unnamed member of Philip Capet's Capellan Mafia during Capet's final duel against Justin Allard in Solaris VII, the "Street Sweeper" is very similar to the standard UrbanMech featuring an Autocannon 10, supported by a Small Laser and Jump Jets.[14]

But yes. They called it the Street Sweeper.

Crit chance multiplier.
They're not joke weapons if you boat enough of them and use them when appropriate (read: NOT against armor). Why do you think ppl are screaming "PIRANHA OP"?

He was being sarcastic. Nobody seriously does either of these things.

He lies.

My experience so far is for some reason... everyone has armor. Running around with cannons instead of MGs at either FAR or close range my score is substantially better then my barely jack **** damage with running around with MGs. Sarcasm or no... others have also stated to me that MGs are total garbage. I have seen no one use them as well.

You source information from wrong people. MGs are a strong weapon if used right.

Every weapon is $h!t if used wrong.

Also, I'd suggest to relax that attitude or just leave the game - it may save you a lot of unnecessary salt down the short road. The game has got a huge and very step learning curve, patience and time and learning about how to get better gets you there. Being brash and expecting to know it all in a couple of evenings brings you nowhere, just brings you pain and disappointment, as well as others around you.

Engage enemies who are already damaged by your teammates, ideally ones who are too busy fighting to pay attention to a walking trashcan. Use lasers to open the armor. Do not facetank.

Does Dao Breaker mean anything especially offensive in Chinese/Capellan? Given it's Philip Capet's 'mech, it could have believably been named Yellow Peril or xXxCappyKillahxXx.

In case you're wondering, Dao is the mandarin word for blade or knife. In military terms it's a broad blade, different from the thin blade most people are familiar with in kungfu movies: that's a Jian.

A Dao breaker is a heavy weapon shaped like a Jian or longsword, but it's incredibly heavy and designed, yes to break bladed weapons or break guards. Think of it as a blunt mace shaped like a sword In the movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the Sword of Destiny (that sword at the centre of the theft arc) is a Jian. In the fight between Michelle Yeow and Zhang Ziyi where they go through several weapons iirc (could be wrong!) one of the weapons used is a dao breaker. Michelle Yeow tries to break Zhang Ziyi's defence with a Dao Breaker, but Zhang Ziyi cleaves the dao breaker in half with the Sword of Destiny.

You can google for the images. Just google chinese sword breaker.

Really don't he's lying to you. MG's are great when boated on lights - can currently kill an assault mech in seconds from behind. ;)

Give it time - at higher tiers people use MG boating quite a lot but mostly on specific mechs like the Piranha.

And in specific situations, mostly when the enemy's armor is already opened - or at least weakened - to crit out components. That's how I use my Griffin 5M's ballistic fist.

Lol @ your ballistic fist. I bet it takes !*2*! volleys to explode a assault mech.

People wanna blame the fishgun for killing assault mechs in sub-10's from behind with 12 machine guns.(well, it actually takes less than 12mg, but thats only because rear armor isn't a thing I guess.)
I say blame the real culprit.
Advanced Zoom. AKA Potato Vision.

Your too zoomed in on whatever the hell your trying to plink from 1000M+ away in your daishi/warhawk/annihilator that you fail to notice that little red ticker on the bottom of your hud until you start hearing that crit warning and red in the weapons tab.

Wait, Nevermind, carry on. Mmmm, direwhale.

You do know MGs are gonna suck in Solaris, right, DFM? thing people tend to forget is an MG boat requires a distracted target to really be effective. You don't get people distracted in 1v1, and the Pirahna's unfortunate enough to be in the same division as a bunch of Streak Boaters. 2v2 would be even worse for them due to the duos being able to watch each other's backs, which is a hell of a lot more likely to happen in Solaris than QP, as you don't have to babysit anyone, and often are going to be partnered with someone you know anyways.

also should be noted, a lot of people who haven't been playing the game for awhile are the main people who WANT Solaris, so there's likely to be a substantial surge in players over the next few weeks as they come back.

yes, I know they're gonna be sub-par in S7.

I was just messing around with horseman about his machine gun punch griffin after I was done trolling the gundam new guy. I tried with the /sarcasm to let everyone know that.

Except the Lb-2x. Mobile suit wingundam deathscythe heavyarms you should really, really use those instead of MG's.

The real question here... is the mech pack worth it? Seeing how no IS hero in the pack has DHS makes me frown, bad. It will cost a fortune to get them going properly.

The 30 day premium time activates upon purchase or upon first login?

First login after injection, far as I know (the pack contents will be injected when the patch goes live if you pre-ordered, or else after you purchase it post-patch)
