This is killing me man . Do i buy the best deal ever or a Fafnir mech pack . Technically i answered my own question and yet .

What would PGI do if it was a willing and able but double minded customer ? I have been jumping back and forth between these two deals . Posted Image

Lol, seems Preorders were so low they had to add in an incentive for peopel to buy Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

There wasn't an early adopters reward, so they had to do something to drum up interest. 7 heroes for $30 isn't a bad deal at all.

Adherence to tabletop construction of a canonical mech.

With an XL engine, if you did NOT have CASE and your engine was damaged to the state of "destruction" via side torso, the mech would be a crater. The engine would not be salvageable, and the pilot would be dead.

Basically that 22 million cbill mech, which is $193,820,000 in USD as of 2016....
would be completely lost due to side torso destruction.

Meanwhile with CASE, you'd probably spend less than 3 million cbills to fix the engine. Often less than 1 million cbills.

So why wouldn't you have CASE in BT's universe?
Thus... it's on the canonical build of the Kraken.

Not to mention, as the pilot, all you'd have to do is get out, stretch your arms, yawn a bit and find somewhere to take a nap until the fighting comes to an end.

Which sure as **** beats being dead...in a crater.

It's been a while, but where exactly is this? Again, I get people like big badaboom's so Stackpoling was given rules in the TacOp handbook.

Those rules were the engine had a chance to pop if it took 4 crits in the same phase of the turn.

Nice getting those boosts for the different game modes. Now Im mostly looking forward to the Banshee, Mad Dog, Firestarter and the Atlas. Wish there were an S7 hero for the Shadow Hawk instead, but I bet more S7 heroes will be released at a later time. Because, why not?

I so hope those energy CT hardpoints will be on the lowest end of its "nose" Then it would mimick the Vulture Mk II from MW 4 until we get a separate line of Mad Dog Mk II, all with different CT hardpoints but less arm/ ST hardpoints. Because F high mounted lasers in that case., it would look.... not good at all... I imagine.

Oh and wheres the Fafnir county downy? Posted Image

Hopefully that Urbie explodes less quickly in MWO than it did in the book it showed up in. It and the Firestarter just got their faces smashed in.

Those rules were the engine had a chance to pop if it took 4 crits in the same phase of the turn.

Its what seems to happen to Mechs with XL engines and LFEs that don't have CASE installed when playing Megamek (the 'unofficial' Battletech for PC which dives into as many BT rules as you tick the boxes for), in one case from forgetting to put CASE into a modded mech given an XL engine and in another case after the CASE on was given a critical hit (and subsequently destroyed). There's no actual explosion that damages anyone.
But the pilot is dead.
The mech is represented as a crater.
There's nothing to salvage at all. At the end of match the mech is chucked up as a total loss even if you -- the owner of the mech -- won the fight when it returns to Megamek HQ (the campaign end).

For whatever reason, if an XL engine or LFE is destroyed with most of the damage being on whatever sides don't have CASE (or via center torso engine damage).... the mech is shown as a crater rather than a wreckage and the pilot is dead with nothing to salvage. In one of the cases I got an arm... but only because that had been previously blown off.... and used later in melee attacks.

This leaves me under the assumption that either it went boom... but not the kinda boom that goes beyond 30 meters.

Or it becomes completely unsalvageable (and in both cases my pilots just died and I might've missed if it was something else that killed them.. There were no ammo explosions or Gauss explosions, though one of these was an Atlas K. In its case a lucky pair of hits nailed the CASE and 1 crit on the engine, and another went CT and nailed the engine twice and the Gyro once. Crater. The other one lost the side torso during a skid with one internal crit to the engine from a previous mission and no new internal crits, but once you lose a side torso...crater with nothing to salvage. The most embarrassing way to lose an expensive mech... crossing a parking lot in the rain and slipping.. before even encountering combat.)

Being the nerd I am I am playing my AS7-D with configs I want to try on the Kraken.

So far I like this build the best.
I tried and UAC20 build but it was way to hot.
I am going to try this UAC20 build tonight. I really want something cool with sustained firepower.

Then there is this SPPC build.

I'm sure I'll get owned as soon as I drop in a Solaris match though. LOL

Would be nice for all releases, actually. However it would be downright awesome if they gave Hellfire the warhorns similar to those of its namesake Hellspawn. Best warhorns in the game, no discussion!

Thx, but where is the rules for this in a actual product though? Nothing I can find in anything current rules wise.

I don't have the old technical handout anymore, but that stuff was obsoleted by later products, and even then stuff like Engine explosion was level 3 rules...

Glad I wasn't the only one to see that tacked on the back.

Is that the new counter to 12mg Piranhas that sneak behind you???

Yeah, lol a nuke as a consumable for anti Light work. The lights/ mg op whiners would be overjoyed!

MG lights dosent bother me too much, they are annoying ( however I love piloting mg boats aswell ) and deadly in the right situations.
I take precautions to avoid dramatic effect on my mech. Oh... dont know, if Im piloting assaults, bump that back armor up, increase armor, crit chance and structure nodes. But best of all, lure pesky lights thats chasing you straight into a bunch of allies.
Sure Im doing mistakes which you shouldnt do when theres mg toting lights running around. Be it in any weight class, I have become more aware of staying even closer to teammates unless I can counter mg lights like the Piranha. They are dangerous, especially if not prepared. Its actually refreshing to see the mg "meta" (still) alive.
