And JJs, don't forget those. Especially with Assault class JJs getting buffed.

I am not really sure JJs really have a place on the Siren mostly because of its hard points or lack there of. JJs for a 95 ton Assault weight in at 2 tons each or 8 tons for all for. That is 8 tons of weapons, armor, engine of DHS you can't mount on the mech. If it had the mass energy hard points of the 3M then yeah because you could just mount a ton of Med Laser on it to keep the weapons weight down and still have respectable firepower for a 95 ton mech. However the Siren I believe only has 4 energy mount which means if you want decent levels of firepower your going to be relying on the much heavier weapons to for your firepower which are going to include Large Ballistics, PPCs, LPL and maybe even a larger MRM launcher. That won't leave much weight for those 2 ton JJs.

Simple breakdown:

30d Prem time = ~$12.50 US. The pack therefore costs ~$2.50 US per 'mech. That's far and away the cheapest heroes in the store--the next-cheapest is the LCT-PB at $6, and most are in the $15-30 range. What about the 'mechs?

Kraken: Bog standard Atlas chassis. But it costs $2.50 instead of $30 like the Boar's Head while still getting the 30% CB bonus.

Ares: Bog standard sword&board Griffin, though with only 2x M probably best suited for MRMs. But it costs $2.50 relative to the Sparky's $17 and has more energy mounts than non-Sparky variants (albeit symm).

Dad Dao Breaker: Legend Killer with one more E and one fewer B hardpoint. Except it costs $2.50 instead of ~$22.40.

Street Sweeper Cleaner: Urbie hero with meh hardpoints but a higher engine cap and JJ limit. Except it costs $2.50 instead of the K9's ~$11.20.

Revenant: It gives you 2E MDD CT omni. Has decent quirks, including single-pod missile velocity on the 2M STs, and costs $2.50 instead of the BA's $28.

Firestorm: It's the Ember with the E and MG hardpoints swapped. It has much better base agility than the other Firestarters (albeit without structure quirks) so it's automatically a better light than the Ember. And it only costs $2.50 instead of $11.

Siren: A Banshee that looks and feels like a fairly ordinary Banshee. Except it costs $2.50 where La Malinche costs $29.

None of them are really bad 'mechs, and all seven taken together are cheaper than five of the seven extant hero 'mechs for those chassis.

Yeah the bundle is really cheap but you do also have to ask yourself if your going to actually use the mechs your buying. I have 203 mechs in my mech bays right now and honestly I probably only play about 50 of them on any sort of regular basis. Some I haven't played in a year or more. As I mentioned about, there are 4 mechs in the Solaris 7 pack I probably wouldn't play much at all so there are only 3 relevant mechs in the package. 3 hero mechs, plus the premium time and swag you get is still pretty cheap at $30 but it isn't near the value you would get if you were a newer player or one that would take advantage of all 7 mechs in the pack. I have a feeling before the end of the day I will end up breaking down and buying the pack though.

You shouldn't be running MRMs or a lot of larger weapons on a Banshee. From what I see, you could comfortably fit a 375-400 LFE with a AC/20, 4 MPL-ML-ERML (maybe a SnPPC and 3 ML), and a RL20. Running around at high speeds with a lot of armor and a superquirked AC/20 brawling and blasting away in 1v1 combat is what it would excell at. Made an example with a 3E with room and tonnage left over for 4 JJs in the legs and a RL in the arm, obviously you would be moving the MLs to the arm. https://mwo.smurfy-n...310cbc4aea48037

Well maybe your right though I really don't intend to be taking part much in Solaris 7 as 1 vs 1 duels aren't the reason I play MWO but if I end up buying into the pack, I might try out your suggestion as it does look like it might be pretty decent, especially considering the Banshee does have an excellent agility profile for its size. I guess alot depends on just how the buffs to Assault class JJs make them viable again.

No matter what people say, based on your pov, dont buy it.. Who cares if its cheaper than buying individually or this e.g mech has ct omnipod blabla, etc. If it sucks for you then it sucks then..

I've played half of them last night, so far they're pretty fun. Did pretty well my first Solaris match in a stock Kraken. https://steamcommuni.../?id=1364206568

Just FYI, the Siren gets hilarious placement in Solaris tiers. It's going up against mediocre IS mediums.

I broke down (like I thought I would) and bought the Solaris 7 mechs and shockingly, I like most of the mechs better than I though I would. Just like always, even though I thought I had a good feel on how most of the mechs would play based on my experience with other similar variants, once I got them in game the reality was quite different and so far all the variants appear to be solid. They might not be meta but they all should be able to put up good soild numbers and even mechs like the Atlas which doesn't at first glance appear to stand out, actually do when you take the quirks into account.

I didn't get much chance to combat test them last night so might have a different opinion after I get a few more battles in them but from what I have seen so far, I am looking forward to putting them to the test tonight when I get home from work.
