The inherent problem is that not everyone brings the perceive META for a given chassis so PGI has to balance how META it *could* be. The player balancing is good so far, and that kind of closes the gap on loadout imbalances. I am not dominating but I'm not getting crushed either...

I can play in testing grounds, with huge FPS drops for a whole second at a time.
I have set the game to DX9, put it to lowest graphics
(despite having an I7 4790K, 24gb of ram and a GTX 970)
I have reinstalled graphic drivers, which are up to date
I have disablead any overlay (steam and geforce experience)
I have checked game files twice.
Side note : game is on steam, software is windows 10

In my opinion it takes the following to be successful:
1. IS Mechs no XL unless light, STD or LXL only
2. Reduce the amount of ammo you would normally use, you won't need it all unless you are a pure dakka build, even then loosing a ton or two for extra DHS is not a bad idea.
3. Direct damage is king
4. Medium to short range weapons only. Guass and ERPPC being an exception, but as and IS mech you don't want to take any PPC with a range limit.
5. Faster weapons cycle rates are important too, which is why you want to load up with DHS.
Skilling properly also helps, but you really need a config that can do direct damage and sustain fire or have a super high alpha.
After that is is all about who can aim better. If you can target you will win more often that not. If you can't aim and spread damage you will be in trouble. Obviously pilot skill in soaking/spreading damage can help you survive longer, but it seems to me when I loose it was because my opponent had better aim.
So I loose a lot! LOL
All and all I really like it so far. I do think It will get a little boring after a while, especially for those not at the tops of the leaders boards.
I noticed after only be live a few hours yesterday that most of the top 10 people in each tier already have over 70-80 wins. Based on the sheer time and amount I can play I don't ever expect to crack the top 1000!

Spoken like someone who hasn't thought out the idea.
Not all mechs are chassis are created equally. Not all Variants in a chassis are even created equally.
Same Weight class V. Weight class is a recipe for worse meta than it already is.
Currently, yes, things are out of whack. This system at least gives them the ability to alter things.
Then again, people seem to have a issue with a mode specifically made for tryhards to tryhard cuz their bracket build atlas gets roflstomped by something purpose built for this.

I find it VERY ironic that you seemed to have worried SOOO much about fairness and using consumables in Solaris that you removed them from play, but at the same time, you CONTINUE to allow these damn macro cheaters with their insane speed shooting in Solaris??? I have personally seen and fought at least three different "macro-warriors" already and I don't find fair or fun at ALL! Please stop allowing them and BAN the users from Solaris who do. It is way past time you do something major about this in the game, but especially if you want Solaris to flourish.

I dont wan´t play 1vs1 or 2vs2. I like Teamplay in FW with Clan. That is the think i play for.
Press Player´s in other Gamemodes by closing other modes for me is an disrespect of the Player´s Community.
Sorry PGI

I'm really enjoying it. Matchmaking is (currently) tighter than expected. The setting and environment is fun, map banning is a great addition, seeing the mech before the match is great, in game UI with leaderboards, player cards at al is great.
The wait time hurts. I have a dull cycle of 5 minute getting in and out of a 90 second match. That needs to be more like 3 minutes. I want to spend 1/2 my time playing - at least.
I'm a bit uncertain about what it will look like in 30 days, 90 days but right now it's engaging.
Props.

Div 1-7 is always going to be a balancing cluster... err, flop, and a lot of the divs are dominated by heaviest in class. I get the intent but there's always going to be a meta mech/build. However big tonnage disparities really hurt mediums and most heavies and most lights.
An open division (with more/better sponsors) then gives you that lights vs assaults dynamic.
This will do a better job of segregating the player base on skill as well. The best players will migrate to open, where balance is more uncertain and can always go back to weighted divisions to practice or try new things and have fun. It also keeps balance a bit more open.
Having divisions with only a narrow slice of mechs over all classes creates a big power imbalance between what is best and everything else because you are limiting available counters to different metas.

I'm ok with colours (though names are too saturated), i'm talking about background picture. It supposed to be Solaris 7 logo, but we have forum thread right above it. So you see now only half-spheres to your sides. Working as intended, sure..
I suggest we get old background picture back, with mechs fighting. It was at least properly made to be used as background here.

The matching seems a bit insane . The division mechs even more so. I have a stock load out non skilled mauler in division 1 . My 2 Fully skilled up cheese build King Crabs are in division 3 so naturally I am dominating there .
Are bolt ons mech specific ? I supposedly have 3 from supply caches but only found one so far .
Where do you click to watch a Solaris match . I see a place labeled watched but there is nothing to watch
