So I was playing on Grim Plexus, the game just started, and I saw a really tall pillar I wanted to jump up on to see if I could scout for the enemy.

I jumped on top of the pillar, using most of my jump fuel to do so, and when I landed the cubic geometry of the pillar made it so that the game didn't register my mech as landing on anything. The way jump jets work is that they won't start recharging unless you are solid ground.

Worse still, I got stuck in such a place that my mech couldn't turn, nor could it just walk forwards or backwards to simply fall off the pillar. I eventually quit the match.

I was just wondering if something like that ever happens again, if there's any way I can get "unstuck"? I ask because in other games, when it detects that you're stuck on geometry, it automatically teleports you a very short distance away so you can move again.

In that kind of stuck....nothing can be done.

If it was the rubberbanding stuck where you can't stop rubber banding, go in the opposite direction and go around the issue.

But if it is a falling stuck there is nothing you can do.

If stuck while feet are off the ground or never register hitting the ground you are literally trapped. Hit f9. Take a screen shot. Give it to pig to fix.

Ah, taking a screenshot didn't occur to me. But in the interests of helping to fix a bug in the game, I'll try to intentionally get stuck in the same spot using the training grounds, and then send the screenshot to PGI. Thanks!

Yeah, I've send those sorts of screenshots many times and they usually address it in the next patch. Make sure your location is clear on the map and give a quick description of how it happened. ;)

Try powering down then up several times. Worked for me long time ago.

Actually, Ive seen few times that when it is under fire (or powering ?), stucked mech can be unstucked..
Examples of un-stucking: recently seen that at Manifold. He was in the wall above the ground (Commando ? dropped from the platform). Also Spider at Mining also dropping from the center into raised obstacle.
Another thing , un-stucking can happen after quite some time, cca 1-2 minutes.

Before you take a screen shot, make sure to press F9 so that your exact coords are displayed. It makes PGIs job easier.
