Greetings,
After not having played for ages (a cpl of years maybe even?) my brother and me decided to come back and test out MWO again this weekend..
After logging in there was a big "hurray!" from my side - tons of skill points to mess around with etc because of the new skill tree system and all.. Nothing to complain about really, while i didn't beef up all my Mechs by now i feel i have more than enough points to get the job done properly..
I prepped up my one of my trusty old JM-6 with 91pts and had a blast in single player quick play..
Seriously was reminded why i really liked the game so much that a few years back i bought a couple of heroes, a few colors & patterns for all my Mechs etc...
Then my brother was ready to join the action and we grouped up to join quick play again - this is where we both got reminded why we uninstalled the game ages ago:
What was a very fun game while i was playing alone instantly turned into something that can be called nothing other than a "loading screen simulator"..
I was deeply disappointed to find out that despite all the new content that made it into the game the "waiting time issue" apparently wasn't tackled at all (Please correct me if i'm wrong).
Instantly the same thoughts as back when we first played the game: "Man, why wouldn't they at least allow tempering with our non selected Mechs / browse the shop or whatever instead of making us look at a still screen with a turning circle?" or:
"Why wouldn't they allow 2 player groups in regular quick play queue? It's not that it would make that much of a difference in a 12 v 12 match? Rather being put together with 6*2player teams vs 1*12player team (exaggerated)"...
I wouldn't be sitting here complaining and writing all that stuff if i didn't like the game, i would just de-install again and go my way...
However i decided to come here and let Piranha know why i probably will de-install again, in the hopes that one day things may change and i don't have to play a multiplayer-game as individual when my brother plays the same game at the same time just because of messed up matchmaking queues...

Not like MWO takes that much space, why not just keep it? You will be able to play events with good prizes without having to install it every time. Had three free mechs (two heroes, and one champion) just for logging in on certain dates. Also, with the release of Solaris and Battletech, the queues (especially GQ and FP) are more empty than usual. It will revert back to some degree as time rolls on.What time do you usually play on? If you and your brother try during NA prime time, you will have much better luck.
Finally, you should tweet such concerns to Russ, for better hearing. Propose him to allow groups of two into SQ. https://twitter.com/russ_bullock/

Yea, you are probably right about not needing to deinstall because 20GB really isn't that much of space nowadays.
As i said, i really like the game and even now i'm tinkering with starting it up to a degree.. We are living in Europe so NA prime time is not doable except for weekends i assume.
Unfortunately i don't have a twitter, hence i'm hoping that some of the devs might pop in on the forums from time to time..
Thanks for letting me know about the events and reminding me about the Battletech release. I'm sure this can play a role in group queue waiting times indeed.. Will give it another shot in a couple of weeks (not after MW5 was released obviously)..

Yes, at least play it with your brother during weekends.

You might be better off just derping around in Solaris 2v2 than waiting for a 12 man group.
