We are all capable of improvement. When we say we are not then that is when you get harder 'cause ya never say it coming like a Brinks truck at the end of shift. You will bounce back or I will join your tier LOL!

I loved the puff of time I spent in tier 3 after I got a new computer going from tier 5 to tier 1 in a short period of time. The thing is, PUG's will still do things that you will say, wait what is he doing. Like running off in a direwhale only to be mauled by a locust that does not take 2% damage. Just not as much and even at tier 1 people do strange things.

I have also seen people in the rental mechs while at tier 1, just not as much as tier 3 and below.

So have fun and guess what, I still take LRM boats out most of the time at tier 1 and some people get so mad, on both team. One that I had the audacity to take a LRM boat out and the other that I was just nailing them with LRMs. I believe in fast up front if not right behind the lights, type of LRM support at less than 300 m. I'm one of those LRM boats that will lead a charge and surprisingly people run and let me keep the 180 m range.Posted Image

I had a ball during that Light LRM day. I put an LRM 10 in a Jenner II and just ran wild with it. I'm used to having to face someone when shooting missiles. This old Jenner II had a lot of mobility skill nodes so I could just run, turn and fire. It was a blast.

Sometimes in a game, you just want to have fun. My problem is that for some reason, the other team will hunt me down and kill me.....lol

try putting LRM 5's on an oxide with 720 or 900 LRMs and get more damage than what you carry in LRMs. I have done that a few times with 720 and only once with 900. If you do not have an oxide then the Jenner II c works wonders with the ability to have NARC.

This trains you for close quarters LRM support and can be fun as hell.

I know the feeling. I am currently pingponging back and forth between Tier3 and Tier4. :)

I am sure I will eventually establish myself in T3. :) It just takes a while.

If you're somewhat decent (which I gather you are for getting here within a few months), tier 3 is a great place to be. You'll occasionally get higher ranked players and you can learn from them, and you'll get lower tier players where you might dominate. So it's a somewhat decent balance.
But as you might be seeing a lot more ranked players due to the match maker priority, the starting phase might be a little hard to swallow. But that's where you learn most. Good luck and hope to see you on the field (in what little time I play at least)

I have been looking for you. Did 5 Quick Play games around 8-9:50 last night. Almost made the 1,000,000 C-Bill challenge.

I woke up at 4:30 am or so my time today and could not go back to sleep. Since I wasn't sure what to do, I played MWO. I got the c-bill challenge to 2 mill c-bills. Will be trying to get the rest tomorrow.

I am all over the place match wise today. Got picked off in a Kitfox early in the match on Polar Highlands, did well in a few maps, bad in others. I may need to rethink my Mech selection. Point wise and damage wise I seem to do best in medium Mechs. Lights can be dodgy for me on maps like Polar and I cannot seem to produce a good score at all with Heavy Mechs. Best I can seem to do with an almost finished Roughneck is 400ish damage. So maybe not a good idea to try getting more Heavy and Assault Mechs, maybe I should stick with Mediums...

Find what you are good at. I have lights, mediums, heavies plus my preponderance of assaults. I picked up all the lights, most of the mediums and a few heavies to add depth to my 2 drop decks for Invasion FP. I try to get the lights & mediums out in QP to gain skill in their useage. My loves are Timber Wolves,Nova Cats,Hellbringers. It is a toss up as which I love more Warhawk,Direwolf or Orion IIC-SK.

I finished the last 189,000 C-Bills of the 1,000,000 challenge and all 2,000,000 of the 2,000,000 challenge. I scored a Brian Cache and along with my normal earnings, I netted almost 4.5 million C-Bills today plus I worked a longer day. I am beat could not complete the 3,000,000 challenge.

The promotion to T3 has come at a bad point in time. I now have problems getting the 500 points necessary for the current event. In T4, that score was quite a regular one. In T3, I have not seen it today, yet.

As for Heavies, just determine the role(s) you want to play, and go from there . For instance, I like to be able to be a finisher, as well as direct fire support and emergency reinforcement . One of my favourite IS Heavies goes 76Kph ( not fast, I know XD ), and has an ammoless 40 point Alpha at just over 300m optimum . Does exactly what I want from it in regards to my roles.

(G) that is because you are being matched/grouped with slightly better players, or okay players running better or more optimized builds, more focus fire-less spraying, among other things. But even in higher tiers, the team members do not always play well together, then they come to the forums to complain the MM is broken and blaming others instead of looking inward.

Well, I get 400+ points every now and then in T3, but I guess I can kiss the MC for 500+ good bye. Even with my mastered Mechs I don't get there right now. I used the current sale to buy an IS Assault and a Clan Light Mech. I can already tell it will be painful to skill them up. ;-) I had an even win/loss ratio before I started playing them. ;-)

I can adapt, role wise. :) I just like to feel I participated and did not drag down the average too much. :) I tend to assume I did something wrong. ;-) And I probably did. too. ;-)

Good Luck to you. My advice is pick Clan or IS and focus on those Mechs or Omnimechs that form your Drop Decks. QP and FP have some skill overlap.

Of course, once you have a good pair of decks for one faction, you really should look into getting mechs for another pair for the other faction. (even if you don't actually buy the deck slots) Play both sides of the field for better rewards.

I am unable to be that flexible. I am working on 4 Clan Drop Decks. Right now I have an all Hero Drop Deck. The pay is the best I have seen.

What's your average pay? Mine is around 1.5m for really crappy decks, and only 1 hero in either of them...

Yesterday I had 2 great games 1.1 almost 1.2 million, 930,0000,and 241,000. The last game was a slaughter for our side. The 1.1 million C-Bills was the first time I did that well. I have been away from FP for along time. But I seem to be getting my sea legs quickly. I am playing better now than I did before.

Nice, the all Hero deck works, lol.

I finally made tier 3 and about halfway through it is like I "hit the wall" (I used to be a cyclist). I was so depressed. But I've been slowly fighting my way up. I do too many stupid things. I always have to be in front. I would like to see the stats but in at least 20% plus of my matches, I'm the first to die.

But, almost to TWO.

If you are Clan and doing faction, look for LikeUntoBuddha, he is my Wolf Clan brother.
