The ticket is getting KMDD or Solo Kill, not just the kill shot. "Kills" are usually mop up kills, which are worth a lot less.

I just advanced another level in FP today to bad it does not help my standings in QP as well.

As BTG said, raw kills don't mean much. A PIR-1 can get 6 kills with <200 damage and then die and lose the game, doesn't mean they contributed anything meaningful. Raw damage means more, but high damage doesn't necessarily mean good damage.

Raw damage + KMDD + total number of kills & assists taken together are the biggest sign of meaningful contribution to both matchscore and victory. If you did 800 damage to 3 'mechs you were either spreading to hell and back or deliberately farming components and in either case contributed less than someone who did 800 damage to 6 'mechs with three KMDD.

I never knew about Jarl's list... Checked my scores there and it looks like I peaked last season... I am on the decline. Getting old.

But I have to say, I enjoy still finding out new stuff about this game...

Hell I peaked right before I retired, I am a has been on that list. But it is fun to notice that as I learned to play and got better scores, it may have been because I was using heavier mechs , go from 30th percentile to 93rd because I ran 40% assaults. Always said lights where underpaid...

My peak was season 14... That was the last time I actually gave my all. Now I just play for fun.

IIRC S14 was when they released the Cougar and the MCII. Which would explain my scores at that time. (I got both)

Amazing! I also peaked in season 14, but I bought neither, and retired two seasons later. What else happened in that season or the next that would cause us to peak then decline?

Idiots complaining about Clans being OP also peaked around that time, so maybe it was just that nobody was playing against us...

I never got into faction play much as my guild was RP as GDL and kept us IS in FP, which was bad. But I don’t link my performance or my retirement to the state of FP, as I never enjoyed it. My personal stable is about 2/3 IS, which when you consider the flexibility of all the Omnis I figure is about even, I play both sides in QP, no skin in that debate ATM. Personal feeling is that there is faction balance in quick play, but the siege mode maps and play style really favor Clans at the level I and my peers play at (having played on both sides as a merc). The balance I see comes from brawling, which I guess you have to be more corodinated or unified in your commitment to be able to achieve in siege.

I've tried both Gauss and PPCs. But the whole "I can't see the targets", "I can't see the reticle" etc problem I have means I will never become even decent with them. But I do get hit with them a lot.

That is why I went to Brawling. Funk, now I'm more depressed.

I have a decent amount of PT saved up. So I partly play now because I feel the game owes me. I'm getting ready to change my name and just go deep and disappear. When my PT is up I'll be playing Total War fulltime. This game is like Crack. Quickplay is an 8-12 minute rush.

I would almost suggest getting a program to display a crosshair overlay... But IIRC it's against the ToS. (nobody really knows why)

. You could take a dry erase marker and put a t on your screen... I once knew a guy who played the doom/quake games with a post-it note placed on his screen so the upper left corner was the exact center(those games lacked a recticle and he liked to snipe.)

Makes me wonder. What do you consider a tryhard and why is trying hard bad?

I had a match a few weeks ago where someone said "The Mech x is suicidal and the Arctic Cheetah is a tryhard." I was the only one with an Arctic Cheetah. Had no idea what he meant.
