Hi

I haven't played in a long time (before clans)

Battletech inspired me to give this another go, anything I need to know?

PS I even backed MW Tactics...

Don't spend money on MWO until you've learned the ropes again. Clantech and then the later Civil War tech update plus a zillion new chassis means you're basically back to newbiedom.

I have been playing the game in an on and off style for quite some years now. This leaves me with a schizo approach to the game, simultaneously both a noob and a bitter vet.

Learn how to do the skill tree ASAP (there are guides of that online), and you'll be fine. As for mechs, buy a Hellbringer ASAP for a great general purpose mech. Also, there is a daily event going on for now, which rewards MC, so check that out. https://mwomercs.com...lay-challenges/

My only advice to new players (or returning ones) is to save your money until you've played for ten hours. You'll know at that point if there's anything here for you and can spend freely. Otherwise I think you can set yourself up for disappointment - that's true of any game though.

Welcome back!

Welcome back!

Useful links;
Sarna ('mech builder, save your C-Bills / MC) also has info on Ghost Heat limits
Skill tree planners #1 #2
Snafets (quirk list, doesn't work for OmniMechs though)
Skill tree guides (somewhat dated, but still useful)

Happy hunting!
