Just be prepared for the ginormous gun to be in the one of the STs, rather than magically suspended above the CT with space wizardry.

Yeah, most logical solution. Still should be an option to have 1 - 2 CT ballistics. I mean, you could fit 2 x ac 2 for the funz into a CT dorsal gun.

I at LEAST want more LT ballistics for the MAD 2. Imagine it like an IS blood asp in that regard. But not screw up the st cannons for the nt time! They really cant get the scaling right, can they?

The cannon can still be mounted ABOVE the CT even if it is technically a ST weapon. Much like the Catapult missile racks actually count for its arms.

Yes please. I want chat to be filled with confusion as people try to part between the Marauder, Marauder IIC, Marauder II, and which one weights what. And particularly what model number belongs to which.

This one can simply be Marauder 2 (No roman numerals), plus the design is different enough as it has a huge gun AND wings. Plus no MAD or MAD IIC has jumpjets that I know of, while MAD2 was built specifically for JJ.

Why? from what I've seen of artistry of this mech it looks like the one thats in game already. No I would not like to see them waste their time building this mech.

I think there is a couple with jump jets actually as I have seen hovering Marauders leaving me like who puts JJs on that thing?

The MAD-5M, MAD-5D, MAD-BH2, MAD-IIC-B and MAD-IIC-C all have Jump Jets.

And wings is exactly the last thing a slow-moving Assault needs on its geo.

Do we really need another marauder?

What new thing will it bring to the battlefield?

Besides, isn't the Mad II = Nightstar?

Marauder II is not a Nightstar. It is a 100 ton Marauder, and it has no hands to get in the way.

But I agree, it wouldn't add much.

The other 100ton IS Mechs in MWO can't fly, or can they?

They can't, but TBQH that ability is not worth the gimpy hardpoints the MAD2 would have to put up with.

Probably true. Dunno how many players would actually fit them.

I‘m waiting for the MAD-II for years.
I hope we will see it before the game’s end-of-life state.

AND now for all the naysayers!

We are here!

As unlikely as it seemed after a 95 ton IS mech was one of the last ones

It seems PGI have read my arguments ;)

Their game plan for IS releases has essentially been revealed as releasing 'Mechs for MWO that can also be used in MW5. There are a few outlying iconic 'Mechs that are conspicuously MIA, but the MAD II makes sense in that light.

I am glad they inflated the bejeesus out of its hardpoints, but the hitboxes are still going to be Nightstar-bad unless this thing is small and agile.

It is not "nightstar-bad" unless they seriously mess the art. What makes the nightstar bad is that it is very squat and wide, with arms very far apart that mess the convergence, while the MAD-2 is vertical instead of horizontal AND its arms are neatly lined to the front.

That top gun will be a death trap, much worse than the Blood Asp because IS tech...

It is Nightstar-bad, go look at the four views. What makes the Nightstar bad are the big side vents, deep torso, and low cockpit, all of which the MAD II has. The MAD II trades the NSR's wide arms for really low arms. Since this thing will be at least as large as the Nightstar, that's going to be problematic as well.

The main advantages the MAD II has are better mounts for corner-peaking and weapons in more useful 'Mech sections.

THe arms are relatively low but that doesn't matter as much because JUMP JETS, you use them before firing.

Also, there is the giant cannon in the back that people said we werent gonna get

I mean, it could be better and more sleek (this art is too chunky and wide for my taste) but I guess its something

Also, it looks like the arms can use both actuators.
