Whelp, event cleared in three matches. Time to stroke it.



Who else here didn't have to try very hard to clear this event?

Man, first match of the day and only 485 match score, feels bad man. Was out of position for a lot of it because the enemy assaults were surprisingly fast, so I only got so many shots off before they all died.

Edit; Although I did the XP day event with just that match... lol.

got a 700+ score on my first go with a dual ac10 bushie.

also knocked out the xp challenge with that game too.

The so called "tryhard" challenge can be achieved easier if you mount some AMS on your mech.

Try dual UAC10s. Really racking up the scores with it.

i switched to my boom whammy. was four points short. on the bushie the uac10s would kill my heat and offset my ammo. might work if i dont miss at all. id have to take a big hit on speed to compensate.

Laser vomit HBR? I used the same thing because that massively simplifies the whole thing. I tried a poptart Nova at first but could only get somewhere around 445 score no matter what I did.

Yah, Standard Clan Laser Vomit. ECM, HLLx2, ERMLx4. Lame, I know, but if you want match score during a potato event, it's the easy way to go. And I really had no interest in trying to carry in a Fafnir (The mech I need to skill up) today.

I've been trying to do it in lights, and these ******* are, believe it or not, making it hard mode.

First game I played on current session, 7xLRM10 Cyploc, Alpine Escort, VIP on enemy side, he nearly got away but was finally killed just as most of the enemy team, and I got 700 MS. Second game with Marauder IIC D sniping on Polar assult, little over 500 MS. Sure I got lucky.

But still to many people it's not going to be that easy.

This has to be my biggest damage QP game without a single kill. Whenever I poke the ridge and core someone's torso with an 80 damage alpha, 4-5 LRM boats sitting in the back with their 99% armor finish him off, using my lock. One of them even talked smack when I wanted them to move towards the front, in order to share armor. In the end none of them did over 500 MS, so joke's on them.

Bushie can do UAC10s without issue on ammo or heat. Speed was around 85 KPH so its not that bad.

first game was dumb luck, what followed were several hours of frustration. finally got my second 500 with a 4ppc warhawk. though just barely.

I find it easy to get high match scores and dmg with mobile snipers because you can survive till the end and trade well with mechs that have jjs and good harpoints. Anything with 16 DHS + will easily get 600 + dmg.

I keep getting just under 500 score . Its a wee lil annoying .

600+ damage is not enough to reach 500 MS. Sometimes even 800+ is not enough. This score, for example, didn't get the prize. With 2 Solo Kills and 4 KMDDs. Meanwhile the cheeky Kit Fox with 3xAMS broke 500 MS.

Took me like 10 games, lol. I kept getting either slightly under it (like 470-490) or just got teams that seemed hell bent on suiciding into the enemy as fast as possible.

LOL, I was wanting to PM you last night about that match. Talk about some sorry *** teammates. My own team did more damage to me than your team did. They kept running in front of me almost every time I had a good shot with my ATMs (about 250-400 meters from target, with line of sight), They kept running into me, and running up behind me and just stopping several times I needed to back up, preventing me from backing up to avoid damage, almost like they were doing it intentionally. I even told them over the mic not to be doing that after the first time, and it happened three more times.

Luckily, I didn't take much damage from you or your teammates whenever my guys did stupid **** like that. No, at least 80% of the damage I took came from my own damn teammates. It's not like I was walking in front of anyone...they were so flustered and panicked, they started shooting each other in feeble attempts to hit the enemy on the other side of teammates. I tried to get them to stop, but no such luck. The match was already lost at this point, and after being hit enough times by my own teammates, I was already cored both front and back (my teammates cored my front CT and a ST for the love of God). All it took was one more shot from your team to kill me.

While I love the rewards that events like these offer, the truth is that they bring the idiots and ******* out of the woodwork in droves. You would not believe some of the stupid **** I saw in other games last night. I had a losing streak of 22 matches yesterday where I was the top scoring player on my team in every single one, using direct fire damage. You would not believe the things my teammates were doing. Saw two of them power down in the middle of a fight and refuse to power back up, all while watching their teammates right in front of them get killed by the other team...in both scenarios, we could have won, but for some reason, those two players refused to engage the enemy, and let the enemy kill them. Seriously, WTF is that about? Had teammates with over 85% armor actually run away from the fight after taking a little bit of damage. I'm not talking about moving to cover...three different matches I had a teammate who just ran as far away as they could in a heavy mech before they were chased down and slaughtered by lights.

Seriously, I've been getting a LOT of matches with really bad teammates, where it appears that I'm the "skilled player" for my team, and we are facing at least two if not three people on the other team who are in the 99%. One game had us up against bear_cl4w and two other 99% guys from 228, and over half my team never even managed 100 damage. Look, I'm a decent player, but I shouldn't be considered good enough to carry team after team against some seriously skilled players teamed up together in QP. I seriously feel something is horribly off here. There's no way I can be considered good enough for the matchmaker to compensate by having opponents like that stacked against me.

Yeah, it's been seriously frustrating for me. It's almost enough to make someone stop playing, even for the challenge rewards, until the event is over.
