I take some slight issue with this statement. Weapons were not balanced for the increased armor on IS 'Mechs, IS 'Mechs were balanced for the increased damage on Clan weapons. It's a distinction that matters because the Clan weapons have historically always been very high damage while IS 'Mechs used to be just as squishy as Clan 'Mechs.

Exactly. I find it amusing that the people defending this idiotic change with "use weapon groups and stagger your fire" are the SAME types of people who bash noobs all the time for playing with weapons that take forever to deal their damage!

Turning Clan lasers into "laser RACS" that require long burn time to cycle through weapon groups doesn't make them "skill" - it makes them not viable, just like RAC's and MRM's in most cases.

You have a reading comprehension fail.

The "by" is where you should've broken the sentence structure, not the "for". It is because of the current IS state that there is balance, and irregardless of what happened to cause it, nerfing UNbalances it.
