"being good" in your mind is about having consistently good performance. You utterly failed to comprehend how someone can be good at the game when they want to be and have stats that do not correlate with their ability.

That's the default position. Obviously stats don't give you the whole picture, but honestly tell me which of these are the more likely conditions:
  • Bad player, incapable of being good, has bad stats.
  • Bad player, by providence, has good stats.
  • Good player, playing casually, has bad stats.
  • Good player, being good, has good stats.

Mommy and daddy really should have given you more attention.

Can you show me where I ever claimed to be good or bad at the game?

Nope. I'm afraid if you get any further up your own *** with whatever this labyrinthine argument you've constructed you'll vanish from existence, possibly tearing spacetime apart and dooming us all. Enjoy your potato stacking, I expect them all to be peeled and in the mess hall by tomorrow morning.

EDIT: Anyone remember when this thread was about Russ' twitter? Pepperidge farm remembers..

I'm not asking you to assume that I am better than my stats. I don't have anything to prove.

So you never *claimed* you were good or bad (or better or worse than your stats), but you *did* imply both scenarios.

Problem really isn't with the laser but with a few laser boats. They just need to go after these few laser boats in my view.

almost any omnimech can boat lasers. just stack the right pods. what if you do some kind of quirks in oppisition thing. give the ct a positive laser quirk, say 15%. then give every boaty omnipod a -5% quirk. this way if you use all the laser points you get a nerf. if you use a few no nerf. use one get buff.

You can have your likelyhoods, but actually putting those correlation assumptions into text as your entire argument, basically saying that because X has better stats, X is right and Y is wrong, is some weak BS that these stat-warriors should feel ashamed for.

What percentage of people do you believe are focusing solely on their performance every game? I would guess at least half don't care about their stats at all and are just playing to have fun. It always surprises me how dense stat warriors are to think everyone cares about their stats and playing optimally every single game.

Well I am, so feel free to judge me based on my stats. And I focus on performing well every match because good performance pays the bills, and playing well and getting that big end of match payday is satisfying to me. I don't particularly play anything really meta either, most of my builds are styled after multirole builds from the lore, or stolen from Mechwarrior Living Legends.

For the record, I don't care for stat-shaming. You can have an accurate opinion without having to walk the walk, so to speak.

I take issue only with your insistence that stats generally do not correlate to skill or knowledge. I think it's fair to assume most people play to have fun, and doing well is a component of that. Judging by the number of threads about how the matchmaker allegedly screws people, I think it's fair to say most people don't enjoy getting killed or losing frequently. Related: me and Dark Souls.

Proof that whining works. Now that Russ caved any sort of balance will be impossible.

If you dont care what people think. Then why are you producing more sodium chloride than the entire forum whining over a decision thats already been made? More of them superior critical thinking skills I guess.

Also keep insulting people as a way to bring them around to your point of view. Now THATS using the old noggin.

"Doing well" is subjective to the desired goal For example If ones goal is to annoy LRM users and support your team, you can be doing well and not have the stats others would typically associate to doing well due to a low K/D ratio or whatever.

This is why trying to debase people's arguments based on theirs personal stats is an act of ignorance that begs to be ridiculed.

Justice has been served.

2x ERLL, 4x ERML, 2x Gauss (typically with ~19 DHS and ~4 tons of Gauss ammo, depending on whether you want a JJ or not) is ameta build on the Deathstrike. The lasers aren't backup weapons, they're there so you can put that 80 damage downrange. The 6 ERML, 2x Gauss build is more popular in solo queue (from my experience) because it's heat efficient and can carry enough ammo to take pot shots, but the "Big 80" is arguably the better build, at least in certain situations.

How are you fitting all that in the mcii? If it's not too much to ask, can you smurfy it for me?

I do have to say though, if 80 alpha is what some players are looking for, it can be done with 2 hll and 2 ermls with better heat and range synergy. Obviously with the proposed nerf, that wouldn't be possible.
