You have to play at least 25 matches (be done with the cadet bonus). This was implemented to cut down on spamming. The only place you can post before that is the new player help and a couple other spots like, I think, the workarounds section.

You can simply choose any Mech in the store and edit it in the Mechlab for free. No need to save the changes.

You don't need to have all 3 (bolt-on, decal, camo pattern) customizations to participate or win. You can use any visual customization you wish to your advantage to best creatively work with for the given theme choices.

We've occasionally done forum contests throughout the years, some had specific themes, like Easter holidays or Halloween etc. However we're happy to see players contribute to the community by running their own events too, which of course we fully support with giving out prizes and making posts if the organizer reaches out to us for. The more events like these the better!

Also this note by Blockpirat is correct. You're free to take the screenshots in the 'Mechlab, which means you are not required to own or purchase anything in order to post your creations.

don't you guys think Bolt-ons are a little bit overdone?

The sword-Atlas and that hammer-Centurion at the first page looked nice and all, but imagine most mechs looking something like those 2 in the near future..

It won't look like Mechwarrior/Battletech anymore (at least imo)..

the mechs will probably look like characters in MMORPGs.

especially that wings on the Mad Dog zzzzzzzz
