Duct Tape is a cocpit hanging, not standing item....

Please do not give wrong information. "Duct Tape", which is to be earned in this event, is a standing item.
The hanging item, you may refer to, is called "Duct Tape Dangler", but that is not the one of this event.

Believe it or not; there are players that have no issues running this map. I'm one of them. I've seen a lot of claims that this map lags for people. Personally; I find that it runs a hell of a lot better on my PC than Crimson Straight; which I have framerate issues on for the first few minutes every time I drop on it, in comparison to Solaris where I'll have maybe 25 seconds of loading times and then it'll run just fine.

Yes; it would have been very nice for an increased occurrence rate for the event. It would also be nice if players actually voted for it.

Yes, it would have been very nice for it to be available in all modes; but on looking at the map it would be hard to add in the Incursion walls; and the AI pathing would be an absolute nightmare for Escort... though I would like to suggest that if PGI does eventually add Escort compatibility to this map; that they negotiate with Harebrained Schemes and get the rights to use their Portable HQ model as the vehicle rather than the Atlas. Partly because then they could make the escort vehicle a drunk tank taking the intoxicated Mechwarriors off to sober up; and their buddies don't like that so we get a brawl in Solaris.

All in all; can't complain. It's a pretty solid event for an enjoyable map; and brawling is BACK; baby!

Summary for the last nearly 40 Round: 3 times Solaris City was in the rotation, only 2 times of it the map won the vote... Superb event....

Well good move from PGI to bring us a new map, looks awesome with all its details.Posted Image

Haven't had the chance to play it yet, cuz it rarely shows. (One thing is how it looks and another completely how it plays)

Makes not much sense to add a new map, offer the event, and then you barely get the specific map to complete it ! Posted Image

Well, the rewards are nice but not that great. If this does not get fixed by Monday, count me out, would be only snooping around just to see if Solaris city shows up, if ever.

Speaking of supply caches...Whatever y'all did to them, they suck now. I've opened at least 15 of them, and I haven't gotten a single item from them that I cared about receiving/have used. It appears that you can no longer win MC, warhorns, mechs, premium time, cbills, mech bays or anything else cool via the supply caches, no matter how many of them you earn.

Literally the most exciting prize I received from all of the caches I've opened was when a supply cache tried to give me a useless decal that I had already been given before, so it gave me $50k cbills instead. That was cool.

I also noticed no meaningful difference between the prizes awarded in the different levels of caches. All of them seem to offer 3 weapons/items that do get more valuable with the rarer caches, but all such prizes are equally useless to any but the newest, most penniless players. And all of them offer some stupid decal or another, but nothing else.

Half of the time now, I don't even bother wasting the time it takes to reach the inventory to open it. Why bother? What I get will just become another number in my inventory next to another weapon I already have 50 of, or another stupid decal I don't care about and don't use. (You can't see any such details unless you are right up next to a mech anyways, so why does it even exist? Of all of the dumb choices the devs of this game made, wasting so much time and energy on the decals has to take the cake.)

I have an older gen3 I-5 paired with a much newer GTX1050ti, and my experience is similar. Solaris City is running fine for me the few times I've gotten it. Crimson will lag out at times, but no biggie.

Only real issue to me is River City, which always takes a dump at the time of day change. (to the point that when I see it coming, I disengage and hide for a while, because I've lagged out and been shot up/died at time change numerous times in the past.)

IDK why time of day is set to progress so fast during matches. The matches should drop with the conditions for the given time of day, and just stay that way for the duration of the match. I've never once heard a player marvel at how cool it is that the time of day changes really fast. But I've heard endless complaints about lag, not being able to see terrain, and poor performing nightvision/thermal features.

Same here. Any lag has been on other maps like Canyon Network due to two events keeping the servers busy with everyone trying to finish both before the end of the weekend. We have allot of time to finish this event so no need to get burnt out within a couple of days.

Is there a reward for actually getting to play Solaris city. Only seen it twice since the patch.

Hailz Mechwarriors:

Got 5 games on the Solaris city map in 16 games. Two of those games the map was present but voted down by other players. The most difficult goal was to get a loss, darn team insisted on winning the game. Map ran fine, no lag problems.
I can't believe we (United States) still has areas where high speed internet is not available or very expensive. I suspect that causes a lot of the frame rate problems.

I have only gotten 3 games on this map unfortunately one was 43 minutes before challenge start time. If it had not been I would have 3/5 accomplished.

I am starting to wonder. I have 19 games played since the challenge, and only saw it the first two games, and one of those was voted down.

It's still in the rotation.
Can't believe they didn't fix the more than obvious flickering issues with some of the building textures. No, I'm not talking about the ads. Posted Image
