Yeah, I'm unusually excited for the announcement. Usually I don't care that much anymore, I've got too many mechs and it's hard to find something intriguing.

Something tells me that PGI will pick up the Clan mech, so Cappelan toys (which I've created the topic about them -> https://mwomercs.com...12#entry6059812 ) would end in next "turn". I would be suprised (and happy) if any of them would win here.

False. Please at least read the OP...

They will be announcing the mech after a set period of time, regardless of whether a person has guessed correctly or not. This thread will lock ~1 hour before the mech announcement. If someone has correctly guessed the mech pack, then the first poster with that guess will receive an ultimate pack (assuming they didn't break any rules, such as the "only 1 guess per person" rule).

I usually hate to discuss a Contest in this manner, but you're freaking spot-on with the truth there. Some people don't know as much about BattleTech/MechWarrior as the TableTop Oldies from before it ever became a PC-based game. This results in very few knowing enough of the array of Mechs to be able to give an original guess on a Contest like this. The end result, as the thread is now rather long due to many people not reading through first, is that those who try to read through will potentially forget something on their way to making a post. Those people then end up duplicating a name without knowing it, and automatically losing out because of how harshly tight that these "First Guesser Only" rules are. (Hell, I can already tell you I have personally fallen afoul of this, and on this very thread!) Thus comes anger, hate, and regret... all of which ultimately result in damage to PGI's chances for maximum possible pre-ordering on their Website Store.

What would be fair at this point would be to augment the OP with the first/only guesses of players to submit a particular mech first, at this point no one will read all these pages to see if mech X has been submitted yet...
