So my pc can barely run the game, and its super hard to run when your getting shot at, is there anyway to turn the res down to something like 1024x720 so that my processor doesn't have so much strain every time that I am in a game. Is there anyway to do this using the game files to make it go down further than its made to go so I can run it in potato mode.

It is no longer possible to alter attribute file to make a custom resolution. It appears 1280x720 is the lowest resolution possible.

So, with that said, what are your system's configuration. Speccy or top portion of its dxdiag saved file. There is also 2 threads about customized user.cfg. And what game settings are you using, not just low but AA on/.off, dx9 or dx11, etc.

Also, when was the last time heatsinks (computer, no mech) were cleared of dust buildup?

I would also suggest asking a mod to move this to the Workaround thread so it does not get lost and pushed off the 1st page.

And yet no actual info about your system. Provide generalized info, receive generalized responses. /shakes head...

Have you tried wrapping your potato in tinfoil? It will run hotter but bake all the way through.

Lowering resolution lowers mainly GPU load. If you are more limited by CPU it won't do much, if any.

I was going to tell him to try to play the game in DOS mode but I think you have me beat.

Seriously though not everyone is lucky enough to have a decent rig to play games on. Still considering how cheap PCs are now, you can buy a decent rig that would play this game at least ok for probably around $500 so maybe the best advice to the OP is really to start mowing a few lawns take some odd jobs on the weekends for a month or two. I mean the one thing you can be sure of if you play games on a PC is that eventually, usually sooner rather than later, your going to need to upgrade your PC.

My general rule of thumb is to put aside at least $30 a month toward a new PC and then upgrade every 2-3 years. That is just a dollar a day, less than the price of a coke.
