Just wondering as I know zilch about this mech. It's nice looking, but I noticed in the detail listing there is no provision for any weapons in the left arm. Why is that? What's the point in a mech that has a useless Left arm? Just curious! :)

It has a shield, probably will come with some armor quirks on it.

It's because it's actually carrying a rifle in that right arm.

It's for giving people the finger and picking up barrels of lube with that hand actuator.

There are plenty of mechs with no weapons on an arm/torso, or even both arms (coughBNC-3Mcough). Just roll with it.

Ok so lets, for giggles, explain why there is an arm with no weapons.

If mechs were real to maintain balance they would generally need to be build in a symetrical fashion. Hence if your going to give it one arm, you would kind of need to give it two. Also if mechs were real, the second arm, while not having a weapon mounted in it could actually be used to pick up and grasp things so it would have quite a bit of utility. Then there is the face that in real life, just like in game you could easily use the arm as a shield.

Overall I guess the biggest thing to take out of this is that unlike alot of other things in the Battletech/Mechwarrior Universe, it actually make sense.

Or the Javelin, Panther, Wolfhound, Assassin, Cicada, Griffin, Shadow Hawk, Wolverine, Hunchback IIC, Thunderbolt, Awesome or Banshee, to name a few Posted Image

I only just noticed the BT right arm bias - do we need to campaign for a PGI original, left arm only 'mech? For inclusion, or whatever...

At least the Clans aren't biased towards lefties Posted Image

It's there so that you can strip all the armour to minmax your build

Maybe some day the devs would implement melee combat and mechs with arms would be able to throw punches.

Or just more arm control, like extending the arm with the gun so the hard point is technically mounted higher, and we aren’t forced to fire them from the hip every time, I think it would improve a lot of mechs with low hard points strapped to their arms.

Thanks for the replies folks!
I do understand there are some mechs what have nothing for one arm. Yeah use it for a shield as that's all it's good for. But PGI could take this as an opportunity and create a bonus left arm (as in the case for this mech) you can get via say mastering this mech, purchase, win something, etc. Fill in the blank with your idea like a special match or whatever.

I didnt realize there was that many mechs out there with a useless arm for combat. Here is your chance to help yourself and us gamers PGI!

Needs to come with a trade off. Probably doing this will lose you flexibility, locking the arm aim point to the torso aim point. Which is probably acceptable for players that already play with their arms locked, but I like the increased responsiveness of free arm movement.

Holy hell, I thought the Incubus was an IS mech..

Literally the ONLY thing that gave it away was that in the loadouts, one variant carries an ATM..

PGI, can you please state if a mech is Clan or IS more clearly?

You mean like putting "Clan Collection" directly below the name of the mech at the very top of the page? Yeah, that would be cool. Oh wait...

It literally says at the top of the page

Quote

FROM THE SHADOWS

INCUBUS
CLAN COLLECTION

It also lists Micro lasers

You can also check the Gift Store, where it splits IS & Clan packs

Or you could check Sarna?
