I must say that for a new player, your builds are well done--especially the Hellbringer. Innovation is nice, but for new players, the tried and tested builds will offer best chance of high scores/victory. Your stats are also above average for a newbie, so I think you will be accepted in many units, if you choose to. https://leaderboard....arch?u=dammonar
Now, if you want better on-hand coaching, you should join units. You can usually find them recruiting in the faction forums here. https://mwomercs.com...7-faction-play/ Faction Play mode itself is better put on hold until you have at least 6-8 mechs for either the Inner Sphere side, or Clan side--and know at least the basics of every modes and objectives, as well as mech handling. Most organized players use Teamspeak to communicate with each other, and some use Discord.
MWO is far less P2W compared to WoT, and less grindy, but you will need real money currency (MC) to purchase mech bays to place your mechs. PGI is generous enough to give free MC, as well as mech bays during events, and those events happen frequently, so keep an eye out for the announcements section whenever you log into MWO forums. https://mwomercs.com...e__sort_by__Z-A

One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to find a good Discord server with people willing to help. Being able to get immediate feedback and advice is very useful, and even the mos curmudgeon ingame player is often more than happy to help someone who asks questions and shows a willingness to learn.
Just be careful about where you get your advice. There are some people and servers who are known for their... ineffective suggestions.
I may be a bit biased, but I can suggest this one.

Many of us aren't full-time players anymore but it is nice to see new people drop in for a bit.
Above all, take advice and then, make that advice your own as you see fit..... What they do and what you do may not be the same thing...
Joining a team is a good thing: but, since Solaris isn't about teams at all and "teams" are a side venue now, it's up to you to find a path.
Good hunting and above all, have fun!

I admit that miss the sickness a little bit. Alas, after the third or fourth time of watching my favorite mech(s) get nerfed the sickness was cured. Treatment used to take a couple of years, but now they can get you clean in just a few months. PGI truly has made great strides in this area.

QFT. It's not even nerfs that cured me, but rather underwhelming releases. Uziel, Nightstar, Thanatos, Hellspawn, Fafnir. PGI can't release an IS mech worth a damn. If there is a way they can screw an IS mech with hardpoint placement, count, or hit boxes, they do it. Why? Because they don't understand their own game at all.

Have you chosen a faction yet?
Also solid build on your Hellbringer, you picked a excellent clan mech to start with. The hellbringer may be old but it still kicks *** in the right hands.
This game is not pay to win. You could stick the worse pilot in the best mech in game, and they would still get no where. So if your hoping to avoid that you came to the right place.

The point though is, that from the NPE perspective, be patient on your purchase decisions, and never trust PGI to leave well enough alone.
Don’t buy things haphazardly in this game, as things can change with each balance pass, which have in fact become a near monthly occurrence. Rely on the opinions of experienced folks and those who are actually good at the game and understand its mechanics (the Jarl’s list is your friend in helping make such determinations until you come to know such folks).
If you must buy something new, do not be hoodwinked by its newness or the lore nerds’ excitement, or quirks, but rather look instead to hardpoint height, hardpoint numbers and types, apparent hit boxes and profile of the mech in question. But above all, wait and see what the actual skilled players do with the thing and push them to explain why. Err on the side of following their lead until you have a better understanding yourself of what may or may not be good, bad or meh, and why. PGI will nerf your mech (and its weapons). But understanding and identifying mechs that are as near to being nerf proof, and understanding and identifying mechs that are just inherently superior, is a big part of enjoying this game even when it seems like the devs are actively trying to break it, and your desire to play it.
TLDR: Don’t be hasty with your purchase decisions until you understand what makes a good mech and why.

Sounds like you may be interested in CW or Comp play. Now, You'll prolly need to find a unit before you can give comp play a go. I'd suggest finding a unit an trying CW first. Now, just dropping in can be rough, but could be a way to find teamminded folk who are on during your normal playing times, but if you can join up with someone offering assistance or a unit, I'd do that first afore jumping in an pugging it up.
Much as I like CW, dropping solo is a great way to get tired of your fellow mechwarriors.

Haha sure. There's no rules for the casual guys other than don't be a jerk but the hardcore guys do need to be able to perform at a high level with builds that complement the team, etc.

Just uh keep in mind that from time to time things get balanced and your favorite build may or may not be adversely effected. >.>

See, you say that in a nice way, but what a high tier Lurmer like myself reads is "If you wanna play faction, I'm gonna tell you what mech and build to bring, and it's not gonna have LRMs on it"..
My last unit split and broke up cose' of that.. so.. yeah..
I don't roll that way really
But thanks.
