GAMEPLAY RULES

This section covers rules and restrictions pertaining to all matches.

STOCK MODE

All 'Mechs will be restricted to stock mode only. Weapon loadouts will be locked to their default layouts when the 'Mech was first purchased and are also the loadouts initially played out in BattleTech lore.

BATTLEMECH/TECHNOLOGY LIMIT

Technology and 'Mech Chassis are limited to 3039 technology. While 3039 technology is the same as 3025, the later year limit allows a few more chassis to be played in Comp Play. All 'Mechs that fall outside of the 3039 tech limit will be filtered out of the selectable 'Mechs found in Comp Play. (All other game areas such as Quick Play, Faction Play and Solaris are still full technology limits and this change only applies to Comp Play)

C'mon, no one is truly alive unless they've had to wrestle a Stock Hellbringer Prime away from terminal shutdown while getting shot at (or most IS mechs for that matter)

GOOD! Now the WC will actually be fun to watch. Especially those who are obsessed with one trick pony builds. I dont have a slight of pity but wish them luck adapting the use of single heatsinks
Bet the crybabies will make PGI bend over or something now, make them get cold feet, get threats and remove stock for the ULTRAboring meta rules in the last WC.

However some comp folks might actually have the balls, sportmanship and guts to take the challenge as the pros they are. Adapting to stock can actually be a fun challenge. Change of pase and its refreshing!

So, ignoring (C) builds (since the rules imply they will be set to the stock for that model), what would you pick for each weight class?

Light seems pretty easy, just pick your favourite Wolfhound
The loadouts are near identical, the only differences being;
WLF-1 gets +10% range
WLF-1A gets an extra ML & -10% duration
WLF-1B gets -10% cooldown
Runner-up looks to be the JVN-10F

Medium seems even easier, CRB-20 or bust

Heavy is tough for me. It's between the RFL-3C, GHR-5N & BL-7-KNT-L.
They all move 64.8kph
Rifleman has the worst firepower & armour, but the best mounts
Grasshopper has the most sustained DPS + JJs to maneuver
Black Knight has the biggest punch, but the worst mounts
I think I'd take the Grasshopper

Assault is easy, AWS-8Q 4lyfe

It'll be a "refreshing change of pace" right up until people figure out what the stock meta is. Yes, there is in fact a stock meta.
