Just you
The mech selection is for mech variants that are usable for the MWOWC 2018, which includes 3025 IS tech base mechs that were released prior to 3039. Some of the new tech was introduced 3039, so thats why this year is the limit.

You my friend have some HIGH hopes for PGI right there LOL. Even for a skilled dev team such variables would be a nightmare to code, best you can hope for is maybe one day to have reactive/reflective armor cause it wouldnt take much effort to have a mech take less damage from a weapon type.

For phase 2, phase 3 part 1, phase 3 part 2 and phase 4 you get the reward for each individual 'Mech in the event.
For phase 1 you get one reward per 'Mech class, rather than per 'Mech.
So either: phase 1 isn't giving enough rewards, all the other phases are going to give too many or phase 1 just gives less rewards arbitrarily.
Not really a complaint just a request for clarification, is it supposed to be like that?

Intended, note that the rewards for the weight class ones gives MC per mech so I assume for the ease of the system it is giving 2xMC50 for the light, 3xMC50 for med/heavy and 2xMC50 for the assault leg.

They set up phase one, heard complaints then altered the structure of the future events. Some folks had finished, or where midway through the first phase, so they did not change it. It’s the same rewards, just alacarte in the later phases, which will make it easier on the folks that do not want to put in as much effort.

Wonders why some always expect mechbay sales every time something is on discount
Knows some do sell mechs as they can always be bought at a later date for that fake currency called cbills
Starts to wonder why anyone would not have one or two mech bays open for events such as these

I had several fortunately, as I tend to sell of mechs I dont like. In the end I lose money on the upgraded ones but I get to keep the parts and mech bay so its not a bad trade. I AM keeping some iv been interested in however, such as one of the assasins and in the next phase im picking up a vindicator for the second time, now that its got some interesting quirks gonna give it another try.

I've got some spare bays, but I'll need about 5 more Mech Bays in order to finish the Event without selling any Mechs, particularly if I succeed in completing ALL of the parts. I'm one of those who doesn't like wasting (C-Bills), and selling Mechs makes me feel like I've trashed past efforts that I put into the game. It effectively tosses out used (C-Bills) that helped in making the acquisitions.
However, the way my last battle session just went, I'm looking at a whole lot less Mech purchases now. That, and a very high chance I won't come anywhere close to being able to fully complete the Event. So many people out there that just won't communicate or work together. Those of us who are desperate for (C-Bills), and really want to work as a team end up taking it in the shorts instead...
Frankly, IF it had been told to all of us that this 50% Off Select Mech Variants was coming, then I would have held off of any purchases that were related to this Event until the appropriate Phase happening. It's been too long, so MWO Support wouldn't be able to help there. Heck, I'm wondering what happened that there weren't Events during about 3 or 4 Sales before this one... Many people ran dry on funds due to the lack of earnings... Maybe some well-known PGI Staff would stop by and give us thoughts about what was happening behind the scenes? I dunno... Makes me think MechCon happening in the future stole so much attention that they forgot something...

Step 2. Do all challenges with mechs that you do not own, but have trials available.
Step 3. Buy cheapest challenge mech that you don't already own, that does not have trial.
Step 4. Fix amazing stock build with off the shelf parts from other mechs, or that you have laying around the shop.
Step 5. Complete next challenge.
Step 6. Strip mech to bare bones.
Step 7. Sell empty chassis.
Step 8. Buy next cheapest challenge mech, if not enough funds due to not having any mechs and part one requiring multi-step challenges, sell duplicate standard engines, single heat sinks and other trash cluttering up your invcentory, do you need that TC5? Then buy next cheapest challenge mech.
Step 9. Complete next challenge
Step 10. Repeat step 3.
Do not skill up any of these mechs. Do not upgrade any of these mechs. They will sell for nearly what you paid for them, the 500k per challenge should make up your losses.

one or two ? My main account has twenty empty bays and my alt has about ten free. I plan ahead for mech sales when bays are on sales. Not sure why certain other frequent forum complainers cannot do the same common sense math also.
