So to say if was I was to buy a Commando, witch should I pick up?

2d Stealth commando. Can be taken without the ECM pods for more firepower, or with for more ECM joy.

Both are good choices. The COM-TDK (Death's Knell ) has a 33% more firepower than the 1B at the cost of some speed and a little hotter.

Think ill grab the 1B, quirks look good, 3 mediums and a srm 4. Looks super soild.

I have the death knell. It runs great until you lose both arms but then you can run around arm less three stooging your way off mechs with an lfe.

Commando 1D has two missiles hardpoints in the CT and 10% missile cooldown quirk. It also has two energy hardpoints in the right arm if you want extra firepower. The 1D has the best health quirks of the Commandos.

Commando 3A has a 15% missile cooldown quirk if you don't mind the missile hardpoints being split between the CT and RA.

You can't go wrong with the Death's Knell if you can afford it. It has armor quirks for days and runs pretty cool with max engine (167KPH tweaked) and 4 Medium lasers. You can circle most heavies and assaults and pick at them until they die unless they have Gauss, IS AC or LBX. 2d Takes a lot of practice and effort and will be painful to skill up. The speed reduction makes you easier to hit and lack of quirks means you will lose your arm with 2 SRM4 early in the match until you get used to it.

I run a 3A with 2 mpl and 1 srm 6. XL 200 engine. Solid, reliable and lot' s of fun.

Always a frustrating experience when facing a Commando in Solaris. Luckily my Uziel has LBX so I can still get some sandblasting hits in until they die. :D

The 1D and the Death’s Knell are both pretty solid mechs and can do ridiculous things for their tonnage, mainly because they are hard for many pilots to hit. I did have 2x 6 kill QP games last night running around in the TDK last night and it’s probably the better of the two if you have to “clutch out” a QP game (just due to not having to worry about ammo), but the 1D might well be better for FW...I run the 1D more there.

I like my ECM COM-2D with 3 SRM2 and a flamer. It's fun.

I did surprisingly well in the -1D(C) trial mech. It was the first time I drove a Commando and I got the 500 dmg for the event in two matches.

That is not correct, both mechs can equip a 240 engine.

1B usually mixes laser with 1 SRM and DK uses 4ML most of the time.

Never bought a Death Knell, but the 1D is the best cbill Commando by far due to its survivability.

I've taken it very high in both Division 3 (top 20) and Division 4 (top 50) in Solaris.

MPLs are the optimum weapon as way more accurate at speed, over MLs and SRMs. 1B runs fine with three, but the DK can take 4. To do so (8 tons of weaponry), you are going to have to drop engine size.
