Not too bad quirks at all. Could be better, like ditch structure quirks and add armor instead. Also double the armor values all over. Dont forget to buff the Locust accordingly too.

But the quirks fit. The Fire Ant got something for flamers, since well... Fire and the ones with ballistic hardpoints and to some degree missile hardpoints gets more armor since they have to be closer to a threat.
The mostly energy ones get less armor but well, energy weapons for the Flea will be lasers which usually have the best allround range compared to rockets, mgs and srm's.

yep. for the guy who said "these'd need massive quirks to be viable" well... the Locust has been viable for a long time. Flea will be too. sure, it doesn't have the same top speed running, but in a sprint, the Flea's the faster one, and it has the edge in maneuverability. in fact, it could be that due to that sheer maneuverability, it might actually mess with some pilot's handling of it due to over-correcting during a turn or evasive maneuvers.

Talk about a horrible camera angle for size comparison. Who thought looking from the ground up was a good idea? You can kinda tell the piranha is a little taller but not very well.

Hey PGI: here is a pro-tip for you - do your size comparison pics from the front so you can actually see the difference.

Edit: A good example is...

At least with this one you can clearly see the mechs height!

Only the the variants with MASC have superior maneuverability, otherwise the Locust has it beat in this department.

It got the armor quirks it needed, it'll be fine. The Locust 1E only has the same minor armor quirks, and it's more than fine for QP. Only in comp league play is it not agile enough for how little armor it has.

Aye, aye. Well the size ended up as expected. About equal in every aspect. Great!
As with the locust, size and speed are two ghost "armor" stats for such small mechs with pityfull armor. Gonna need it and gotta go fast!!!!

And missile spread quirks instead of f.e. missile cd? Posted Image
Really seems like someone is still using his trusted dartboard to assign quirks. Posted Image

You won‘t have those Srm2s go astray, would you?

Good luck to Flea pilots. I guess if you play and just don't expect much dps you'll be okay. Just go in with the "I'm a scout!" or "I'm a harasser!" mentality. Maybe I'll send you a nice "I'm helping!" sticker.

hey, without scouts, your "godly damage dealer" gets its *** flanked and killed. also, I wouldn't write the Flea off until you've both piloted and fought one with a competent pilot. I predict due to the MASC variants it'll be a nasty little bugger on city maps, and others with tight quarters, or ones littered with cover (since it can easily bolt between positions at insane speed thanks to the MASC). we'll all see on Tuesday, though.

Feel bad for everyone who buys these. Release week will be full of streak boats making it very hard to enjoy your new toy.

I'll just use the meme machine to back stab the streak boats lol

I just hope the needed damage per mech for the Flea release event is adjusted for being an IS light mech. Sure, could use some leftover airstrikes or artillery, but I'm pretty sure this is still called "MechWarrior Online", not "ArtilleryWarrior".

Small enough target, better start practicing your aim with the LB-X.

Based on what? Your average 400+ damage match with a Locust?

Just gallivant around and get reported by your team for being the last 'mech alive. It never fails.

Derp assaults die from lights back stabbing them all the time. Plus I've seen lights be the deciding factor in matches quite often.

Aw.....

So the 19th (n probably 20th n 21st) will be Streak-Whacker day again eh?

Or maybe, we can call next week the unofficial event of

"Pest Control!" - Kill 20 Flea/Locusts.

Flea owners get "500 damage done with <variant>".
All get "receive 1000 damage from Flea or Locust mechs" Posted Image

The idea of actually using "viable" to describe a light mech never even entered my consciousness ... and I'm a light pilot. Posted Image

A scale comparison from that degree is a terrible way to accurately compare size. Can you guys no longer do straight on captures in the new Mechlab?
