Picture this, you're in a Vindicator, a really, really not-so-good mech with abysmal low mounts. You drop on Grim Plexus, Skirmish. In your lance is a Deathstrike, 2 guass, 4erml, 2erll, full meta cheddar. You approach the terrain, you are unsure if it is even remotely safe to peek with your incredibly low-slung PPCs, jump jetting essentially screams "I am here, a nice and toasty poptart" to the enemy. The DS, with its uber high mounts, effortlessly peeks over the hill and alpha strikes some poor ******* at range. Boom, 60+ damage at range.

But then suddenly, you remember the mythical patch notes: "New gameplay mechanic added: mechs with necessary actuators can now toggle arm extension." You press the hotkey for your PPC arm, you receive a 15 percent top speed reduction and a slight decrease to torse twist speed. But your gun arm, now fully actuated, is at cockpit height. You peek over the hill, you spot the wounded mech the DS vomitted on, you blap 'em with dual peepers, killing blow.

"Nice shot." Your DS friend comments. You, feeling the thrill of the kill, lower your arm and retreat down the hillside to prepare for the next shot.

I would like that along with Toggle: Kneel

Prevent or severely reduce the ability to move, but allow a Mech to duck down.

Oh, and to answer any comments about teabagging: People can already teabag in this game if they really wished to do so. They just have to repeatedly press the shutdown/startup button for their Mech. Adding a kneeling function wouldn't matter.

I think they just don't want to animate all those mechs. ;o

why stop at cockpit height?

arms should extend above cockpit height with a periscope coming out of the cockpit

Why does that need a periscope? Doesn't the Illuminati cockpit have Lostechvision™ to allow a pilot to see through obstacles?

I guess every mech with low slung arm mounts will now shuffle like zombies if that feature is implemented.

You can teabag mechs without shutting down, by repeatedly tapping JJs. Posted Image

Fully agree. Mechs are supposed to be able to move their arms. End of line.

Also would like a rear view, even if there's no rear-mounted weapons.

Extending your arms like that should lock their crosshairs with the torso crosshairs, much like the mechs that lack those actuators.

Your point? Every mech with lower and upper arms currently walks around with no other animation besides leg movement, torso twist and some missile bay doors and claw gimmicks. If PGI seriously can't be bothered to animate something as simple as raising a models arm we're in big trouble. Plus I think a speed/twist penalty will deter full on use of the proposed mechanic all the time.

Basically I want the future of MW games to move past the bare bones mechanics introduced in MW3, which was released 1999. I think in 2018 we can have a few more features.
