I think I'm just gonna buy it for it's cuteness. :P

Decided the Flea would play too much like my seven locusts so I passed on them. I guess it comes down to a quirk battle between them for people choosing.

100% Quirk battle.

I might have Early Adopted if I'd seen the durability quirks in advance, as that's KIND OF IMPORTANT, PGI

But it's more like...instead of a battle with the LCT, it's more that...who wants to risk buying a pack early to find out later that the Flea had zero durability quirks combined with terrible offensive quirks? (high quirk on a single hardpoint, for example) The offensive quirks do seem mostly terribad, but at least there's some defensive quirks in the mix.

Now Early Adopter is over...so why not just wait for the Cbill release and buy one or two w/o real money? I'll never understand why PGI wont put the quirks out in advance. You expect me to buy Early Adopter blind, or wait until Early Adopter expires to sacrifice Early Adopter rewards to see quirks. Especially on a pack where you're already going to need to sink way more c-bills on just XL engines than the 6.5m c-bill bundle? (16,657,998?)

I'll never understand their 'strategy' on this.

The Flea offers nothing. The mounts are better on the 1E and it has a higher engine cap. Most variants share the Locust's +6 leg armor. Durability above the waste is of little importance.

Why spend real money on the Flea when the superior troll mech the Piranha will be out for cbills?

The flea with SPLs will be able to kill the Piranha 100% of the time between equally skilled pilots. Different roles. Piranha is more like the A10 tank buster while the Flea like the Locust is a F16.

And the MG quirk isn't even that high for mere 2 ballistic point. I'm keep hoping that the IS will get a 20 tonner that can rival the Piranha, but that doesn't seem possible.

They had one with 8 MGs though. All they have to do is make it have 12-mgs worth of firepower, so that's +50% MG ROF.

This is a missed chance.

Well, i found it hard to deal with enemy lights with the PIR-1 with MG.

The PIR-3 with it's arm lasers though, equipped with pulse lasers they are easy to aim at lights' legs, or many other mechs for that matter.

Just wait for the PIR to engage on a friendly big 'Mech and then pounce on it with the Locust. Even MedLas are pretty strong against the PIR and can leg it in two glancing shots.
