Hi,

I have brought this topic up a few times. DEV'S can you please have a global/master cockpit item removal button. Push the button and all mechs cockpit items are put back into the mechbay inventory. Some people have over 100 mechs and going threw each and every mech is "annoying". I have spent many dollars on this game and would like a nice button for this. PLEASE!

Please add this.
PLEASE ADD THIS.

I constantly go looking for certain cockpit items for a theme of some sort and only find out where they're hiding after 17 minutes of searching. My ex used to keep a master list of where she put all her items.

I have like 200+ standing items, I desperately need a remove all button. My biggest fear is that they'll finally give us a removal all button and there will be a bug that eats some of your items as it removes them and you have to try to contact support and explain that you use to have 12 clan wolf warhorns but now you have none.

PGI's logic is that they want people to get around this by just buying more cockpit items instead of shuffling around a small number of them. They don't like "cheapskates."

Or even put a dismount click next to "mounted on another mech"

Make the game feel like it's not in beta an I'll buy more :P

Certainly PGI would "allow" this.

The problem is that they probably can't "program" this and even if they could there's ZERO reason to cater to those whom they think of as "cheapskates" that have the nerve to actually move things around on their mechs.

For shame people! Go buy a mechpack.

As if PGI could untangle the spaghetti enough to code such a thing, without imploding the entire mechlab and matchmaker.

I am no cheapskate. I have put many funds into this game and have insane amounts of cockpit items. I like to switch things up and change them around to different mechs. I think this would improve on some frustration that the game has as features. It's a simple change. People will still get cockpit items even if there is a master clear all mechs of cockpit items to inventory button.

Easy buddy. "module swapping cheapskate" was the epithet thrown at us by a PGI bigwig before the whole skill tree (maze) dropped. I meant nothing disaparaging about your wallet.

You people never learn.

Does this idea have "overwhelming community support"? PGI will not consider requests from the prols without it.
Is this a "big change"? As you may know, PGI requires $250K, 2 RAND Corporation studies, a two year long vetting process, iterative implementation over the course of at least three months and more likely 6, probbably a round table or two and maybe a PTS, all to occur before even the smallest of changes can to be instituted into the game, and "big changes" are outright dismissed. So if you want a shot at getting this done, its going to take a while and you need to re-present your idea as a bunch of little steps that are more managable for them.

Finally...be very careful what you ask for. Based on precedent here is how this will likely turn out:

Patch notes sometime in 2021:
So with the overwhelming support shown by the community for this feature we are proud to present the newest feature of MWO: The Cockpit Items Removal Button!

Yes, we know this is a big change, and there will likely be a series of hot fixes to work out the hick-ups, but players can now with a push of the button remove all of their CP items from all of their mechs. Enjoy!

Approximately 30 seconds later on the feedback thread:

Random Poster:
"Um there seems to be a problem with the new CP items removal button. When I clicked it, it removed all my CP items from my account, not just from the cockpits of all my mechs. What do I have to do to get them back?"

Three days later on same thread:
Random PGI DEV:
-Long story short- Working as intended. You asked for a button to remove CP items, and we gave you a button to remove CP items. Don't want to remove your CP items? Don't click the button. Enjoy!

Maybe you haven't been around long enough to remember Paul (if I recall correctly...it was such a change from Russ putting his foot in his mouth) calling module swappers cheapskates.

If you weren't around for that you definitely won't recall discovering that you were not "the target audience" even if you were a FOUNDER and the (in)famous "You are on an Island" comment. That last one only took Russ about 2 years to correct/understand why people were upset.

See, I kinda thought they'd implement it and at first it would "remove all cockpits" from the game.

The Hotfix would bring back the cockpits but remove the Avatar.

Your descritpion would be the 2nd Hotfix most likely.
