Here's an idea for MM:
- We see the players within the lobby before dropping, not before the match.
- have variable player count, such as 12v12, 8v8, 4v4 depending on how long the waiting time. If 12v12 takes too long, we go for 8v8, else if 8v8 also takes too long, then we go 4v4. Boom, "QUICK" Play, as in we can get in, get out.
- Fill missing players with bots -- hopefully it's good AI, with varying skills depending on the total skills of the enemy and ally to match.

Better Mm

We already have an extremely good AI, it's called the VIP.

Man, the VIP annihilated me instantly one game. Admittedly, I was in a cored legged locust with zero armour allocated and a single rocket launcher as my equipment but...

Replace all of that with "actually working MM" and I'll agree. And no, simply playing a lot for tier 1 isn't how MM should work.

I like the variable player count approach and would love the added variety this would bring. Maybe even give players an option to op-out of some match-sizes to improve acceptance.
Bot's however would probably do more harm than help, it's really hard to make them behave good enough.
And it's much less fun to win a duel or trade against a predictable bot than it is against a real player and his individual actions.
