Nah, he's just saying the Kodiak sucked so bad it needed a mention here as well.

Agreed.

Perfect.

As to the OP, for me it was hands down the Locust.
I have forgotten how to play the damn things and it showed. Took me like 5 matches to get the the event done because in four of them I tried to back stab, or stay by a fatty, or clean up. It was only when I finally got a match with another bunch of lights that I did more than 400 points of damage. The rest I was either one shot or died almost as quickly with only 1-2 pulls of the trigger. Yuck.

Cyclops gettin 5 kills was a shocker? T-bolt sad? Both have been top performing mechs of mine forever.

Every mech did well, almost all were done in one match except the jenner which took two.

My singular T-bolt qualifying match. Hardly a bad mech.

That's how I felt with my other mechs in general. Since I mostly pilot locusts,spiders,the death knell and is jenner all my other mechs felt really slow and unresponsive to my input. I didn't do this even as having done the ten kill assist and 500 damage ones burned me out so I spent my time with boss in mgsv:ttp. The locust is a very unforgiving mech even when you gimp your armor and weapons for an lfe. I find is xl almost mandatory in them.

My one thunderbolt runs ok as a laser and mg carrier but it only has a few nodes in mech ops for cool run. I normally don't play clan mechs despite having the jenner copies, the purifier kfx for ams fun and tws plus the free ones pgi has given out over the years.

The bad;
SDR-5D - 1 LL, 2 ML - I forgot to swap to 2 ERML, but played as if I had. As such, lots of wasted heat and very little damage. I only realised my error after completing the challenge, when I was stripping the engine out...

CTF-3L - 3 ERLL, 2 ERML - Even with MASC, I kept finding myself out of position or just out maneuvered. I remember now why I stopped playing in Cataphracts.

The good;
HBK-4P - 6 MPL - WOW! I had forgotten how deadly this is. Ripping off torsos here, there and everywhere.

WHM-6D - 3 LL, 4 ERML - Reliable. Safe. Boring. Not as much kick as the 6 ERML version, but I do better with less.

BNC-3S - HGauss, 7 MPL - Oh dear... this was brutally efficient. I've started looking at other 'mechs I have to run a similar loadout (I count 9 or 10, depends which Dragon Hero I have). Highly recommended (by this Tier 3 pilot masquerading in Tier 1).

I used a CTF-3L myself... HGauss + 4 ML, it was actually pretty decent. Running at 70 KPH normally, 88 KPH with MASC, it could get around nicely, and had a decent punch to it. Only played it twice, but both were mid 400 damage games.

I am gonna have to say that trial mech Enforcer , with its centre torso ammo and XL engine must be one horrible experience for any noob . Thats the worst in my opinion .

The trial Firestarter on the other hand is amazing . I landed 400 damage both times i used it .

Hated the enforcer too. The Vidicator 1AA was a pleasent surprise though. Hated most of the lights (close to stock loadouts).

Assassin and Urbie were the best. Because they are the only IS mechs I own.... Centurion and Cataphtact I have owned before and sold: they were pretty good but not Clan and couldn't be used anywhere else other than QP..
