Anyways, the gift store says the recipient need to have the standard or collector pack purchased, or any hero add-on cannot be redeemed.

Which seem so... terribly... dumb.

Sell them by individual with a higher price if you want, but why this thing where I can't spend money unless other people spend money too?

Gift some MC (preferably during a sale) and they can buy the Hero in the store (preferably during a sale)

Unless you take advantage of sales at both MC purchase time and Hero purchase time though, they are prohibitively expensive. The Deathstrike is $27.00 worth of MC assuming you purchase the $100 MC pack. You can get it for half that if you wait for sales, but it's still dang expensive. The Ultraviolet is a whopping $37.50 of MC... that's insane.

Oh I know, it's cheaper to buy them the Standard pack & Hero Add-On during a sale, instead.

For whatever reason, during a Christmas sale one year I bought most of the IS Hero 'mechs ... ...

I thought about that, but that seems so gimmicky. It's like the difference of giving a gift vs a gift card. I rather just give a gift and not a gift card.
