Hello I've just come back to MWO and I've been gone a while but after my first match back I had an account injection of a mechslot and a NOVA NVA-S(C) I cant seem to find any events that give it as a reward so has everyone been gifted this or have I glanced over an event?

No. Along with any other free stuff in the last 5 years... None of it is applied retrospectively
