Always go for Clan omnimechs when you get freebies. They don't need to be upgraded unlike IS mechs. No DHS upgrade cost, no endo cost, and no engine upgrade cost.

That said, these are Champion mechs, so most of them are already upgraded though. Still, Clan omni mechs give you the best options.


Go for Stormcrow if you ask me. If you really want an IS mech, from that list Trebuchet 7M or Bushwacker is best choice.

Then Shadow Hawk would be best. Both Kintaro and Vindicator give you interesting playstyles, but they are ultimately one-trick ponies. Shadow Hawk gives you more options with numerous ballistic hardpoints.

i went with the blackjack. even though i own a couple others, i kind of liked the varient and regretted selling it. i even had skill points on the ledger for it so i dont have to level it which is nice.
