I see a new balance adjustment, PGI wants to adjust the CLAN laser to the same performance of IS (the 3rd time or the 4th time?)

I think PGI should delete all clan mech, so that you can achieve the balance you want.

I like the changes. Please nerf the Clan lasers more!

If only there was a thread to vote on proposed change options or suggest new ones, or somewhere to provide feedback on the changes...

Oh well, just make a rage thread, that's much easier!

Laser vomit is so easy and boring. Time that it gets curbed. Projectile weapons at least require aiming.

And you know damn well they only listen to the suggestions on there that are from their buddies. I didn’t bother because I knew it would never be looked at. I’m sure many others also figured this out.

And you know damn well players who want to complain about something will, evidenced by 90% of the replies to that 1st thread were pointless [Redacted] and moaning about things they already dismissed as not being on the table at the time, or completely unrelated.

Every weapon requires aiming (yes, even lock on weapons). Lasers require you keep the reticle on the target. Projectile (and PPC) weapons require you add in some lead which is generally more difficult.

One of the reasons hitscan weapons like lasers are so popular is that they help mitigate the networking effects inherent in a worldwide MMO. If we all had sub 50 ping, it wouldn't be a big deal, but in any given game I see pings from 20 to 250 and sometimes higher (usually a problem case, but...). Pushing people away from lasers will also push people playing from high ping locations away from the game. It will also reduce crossover on the servers. I have an 80 ping in NA, but 170 in Europe. The latter results in more misses with my PPCs and Gauss (even worse with something slow like AC20). But with lasers playing on the Euro server doesn't really cause many serious issues for me.

Something to think about.

i got 300-400 ping
i can use LASER and LRM only
But it has nothing to do with the laser NERF
if PGI want to "BALANCE" the game , please delete the CLAN mech,all of them

You've still got IS lasers if the Clan nerfs turn out to be that bad.

The clams and sphere are closer in performance than they have ever been. Maybe if these changes prove effective, some sphere quirks can be toned down.

Op, if you are really so attached to clam superiority, just fire up any of the old titles. I recommend mercs. Still fun.

You mean make the two faction just as identical with very small difference here and there, sure but can also gut other side strongest combos to while at it.

PGI claimed both factions to be "closer than ever" so, so many times (and many balance changes ago) that it kinda lost its meaning.

Faction balance, on a tech vs. tech level is as bad as ever, imho. It's just the premier IS quirk boats and perfect storm'd Clan Mechs that got closer and I think this balance changes doesn't affect the latter while causing a whole lotta colleteral damage.

PGI preemptively dismissing everything but, like, three utterly questionable approaches is something that is worth bemoaning, though.

Yes, I get it, nothing but big damage nerfs to all Clan lasers (and the Gauss recoil) is actually on the table, but that doesn't make it a good approach.
