So I've got this question for you experts out there...

Ever see a monitor reduce it's brightness when there isn't much being displayed on the screen? Not just the browser window or video window but also the toolbar at the bottom etc.

Example: I start at the top of the MWOMercs website and it's nice and very bright. I scroll down to the bottom and it reduces the entire screen brightness (including toolbar).

Example: I watch a movie in VLC and during the dark portion of the intro it reduces the entire screen (including toolbar) to like half brightness.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Fixed it! Apparently my monitor has a setting called MagicBright and my son must have set the Brightness to Dynamic by accident when he was screwing with the monitor watching his animated movies. Setting it to GAME made it nice and bright and no more fade.

Whew! Thought maybe I was having a stroke!

Yeah, those blasted "dynamic" settings on monitors, whether brightness or contrast may make great marketing hype for the side of the produce box, but in use, they're just a pain in the rear.
