The only thing that will save the Jenner at this point(most 35 tonners in fact) is a redo of the Rescale.

The Jenner needs to be reduced in size by at least ten percent. It’s monstrous yuge.

The Jenner may need a lot of things depending on who you ask, but the #1 problem for me right now is how weak the arms are. As it is now the Jenner has the weakest arms in the game aside from the Locust-PB (which has no arm weapons anyway) and the Piranha (1 pt less while being 15 tons lighter). And then there are mechs like the Spider-5V that have no arm hardpoints whatsoever but still have more armor than the Jenner. The extra ST armor doesn't do me any good when I have no weapons left.

Give the arms their armor back and I would be content. Other buffs are welcome too of course but the issue with the arms is what is stopping me from playing them right now.

A few things must be done to make it play-able. Undo that lame arm armor nerf. Survival only gives you 2 points armor and you still can have more armor on a locust with max survival. Shrink it back down to its original size. give it laser duration and range quirks. What good is a lame 10-15% missile cool down when it can only fit lrm 10 on a few variants? Even with just lrm 5 x 2 to get a ton or two of more ammo isn't a big deal.

Redo the armor changes from arms. Really no one wanted that and every time I see a Jenner I laugh at it because it will or has lost its arm mounted weapons.

Or at least give them a decent accel/decel/turn rate buff. Most 35t turn like school bus

Last time they "buffed" the jenners, they moved armor from the arms to the ct and sidetorsi ...
This was an exceptional smart move, in a light mech with the majority of its hardpoints in the arms.
Really curious what they ll do next.

Jenner is actually pretty strong with the mid game poke right now, not a great brawler anymore though but that has little to do with the chassis and everything to do with the fact that small class lasers are just total s*it right now and have been for sometime.

SO there is nothing for the jenner to do other then poke with Er Meds from mid range. Its pretty good at that too but the JAV beats it any day.


You guys must have not been here for the 3 second jenner that Russ was so afraid of he killed the chassis because of it and they have never returned to battle like they were before.


Russ hates the jenner and is very much afraid of decent light mechs in general.

I picked up the six medim laser Jenner back when it was on sale a month or so ago and I just don't see any reason to use it over my The Death's Kneel. It has the same critical weakness of my TDK, which is that the arms fall off, while being slower and fatter. The jump jets and slightly improved damage output just do not make up for being half as durable.

This might seem obscene, and you might think I'm full of ****... but recently I engaged in a 3v3 light fight in a private lobby against some of the current top GQ pugstars.. We beat them with an LRM40 Jenner and two PIR-1s.

Don't blame only PGI because they are only partly to blame. Just look at the double standard on the board: it is completely ok that streaks hardcounter lights or that 2 HGs rip or a huge alpha rip a light apart or at least cripple it. But heavy and assault jocks cry bloody murder when they get killed by a light...often it happens because either they tunnel-visioned and the light hit their back or they were ganged and it was a 1 vs 2.
