I use to do a "leg em and leave em" strat. Where I would find an assault or heavy trailing behind the main body, take their leg, and just let them struggle from there on.
My all new favorite thing to do now, and I call this "giving them the Dirty Special," is to take my Piranha and strip weapons off of torso's, bonus points if they're carrying all their weapons in their torsos, and then just leave them. I won't kill them, but I find it hilarious seeing a mech with no weapons just kind of wander around doing nothing for the rest of the game except to look good.

To note I was very pissed during a huge losing streak.

I play a LRM boat Assault.. that alone usually pisses people off enough.
But I take it up a notch - I play a LRM assault to deadly effect. And when you get rained on all match, it makes people go "kill that fu#$%ng LRM boat!"
And then they rush me.. thinking to score an easy kill..
And then I overheat.. and deny them the kill.

And then you see a light get frustrated.. or even sweeter, see a slow heavy or assault begrudgingly stomp it's long hard way back to the front line..
Hihihihi..

Watch the enemy from outside sensor range and openly taunt them on comms so they know I can see what they're doing when I'm the last 'mech standing.
When they start to gank me, run out of bounds to deny them the kill.

Step two - taunt the reds when I kill off a light
step three - laugh and laugh and laugh when they complain about streaks
Step four - Profit
bonus step - go into faction play and realize how using streaks has negatively impacted both my aim and torso twisting reflexes. :-(

Reminds me of good old Point Blank AMS:
Personally i felt dirty when i once walked behind a laser-vomit MAD-IIC in my Flamer Nova (RIP) and grilled him with 6 Flamers right when he fired his second alpha. Poor guy was on override and exploded before able to manually shutdown.

I know an EXTREMELY skilled aussie player that did that with 6 ERML. He would top leaderboard in KD every single season when he played. He got banned 2-3 times as a result of that tactics (and finally quit).
I wonder why the same rule doesn't apply to you?

New player was being very aggressive. He had basically suicided 2 mechs into the enemy already, and ignored our calls to hold back. It was like 4-5 minutes until the end of the game, we were up by like 1 kill, and he started lumbering his under-engined atlas towards the enemy. So our team legged him to keep him from suiciding into the enemy so we could win by forcing the enemy into our firing line. We won the game, but it did feel dirty.

Been a long time, but ran into him yesterday why playing my PIR. Found him with a LCT from my team. Right where you would expect him, but this time he had a Jager backup. We both focused the Jager until I saw someone had kicked off a strike where the three of us were. So I pushed up to his position and started working on him. Both of them went down. Both of us were lumped up, but still going.
Funny thing was, he had two PIRs on his team that could have helped him.....

Yeah...no.

Well anyway, was in a QP match in my DWF Laser vomit assault, I saw a Piranha doing the "shooting the assault while circling routine" on a Lance mate in radar and was able to round the building to get where they were. I have my lasers set on chain fire and promptly too them off chair fire and gave the piranha a full alpha which partly missed but leg the left one and unfortunately my lance mate's leg as well. (Oops!) The other assault was able to dispatch the Piranha with his Gauss rife.
He thanked me for the assistance, but said try shooting better next time.

He was alive, but I guess ya cant win them all.
