Fix The Servers. Fix The Glaring Functional Issues In The Game.

The main thing is fix your servers. They have become unreliable and in 75% of matches people are disconnecting that is if the game doesn't flat out crash.
I would love to say this is a me issue but people are complaining about it in matches now. I thought maybe i was crazy that on 3 different computers that i use in 2 different locations that maybe i was the problem, I'm not.
I am tired of launching into the game and random menus still visible on the screen with no way to clear them. I am tired of the matchmaker dropping 8 Assault mechs on one side with 4 heavies vs 12 mediums and lights. I have dumped thousands into this game, I love Mechwarrior ive played it since i was a kid. But you are very close to ruining the only multiplayer MechWarrior available. At this point its very hard to justify buying 5 when MWO is and has continually been a nightmare of poor development.
How many iterations off the mech lab and base interface have we had now ? 5 ? And it STILL has issues! The player base has very clearly near death as the matchmaker can't put together a balanced match outside of peak hours. You aren't losing nearly as many players to balance as you are players who's first experience is an unreliable train wreck of a game.
I wish i could justify it on bad hardware, and give you guys the pass. But if an 8700K and 1080TI cant run this game properly we have a problem. My laptop is a 7700hk and a 1070 and it has the same issues. My friends are running a variety of hardware, they all have the same experiences.
Fix your game please. Then worry about spending hours of development on balance.

Don'y worry about the game. It's been minimally viable since beta v1 and my 2012 computer which was specifically built for mwo still has all the issues you name. My pc was a $1,350 pc in 2012 which meant it was pretty decent for games in 2012. It can run some games now but I have better things to spend my money on than a new gaming rig for a 2012 pc game.
I find it funny that my stock 660 old as dirt of a video card on an amd system can handle games like mgsvttp and battletech just fine holding a steady 30-50fps but mwo tanks into the 20s.

Have you dusted out your CPU/GPU?
Are your wires bad?
Poopy internet provider?
Etc?

Again, This is multiple machines in multiple locations. One runs with symmetrical fibre connections with a DSL failover. My home location has a 300Mbs/20Mbs cable connection. This is also Multiple people in multiple locations with multiple configurations. This is not just a "me" problem.

Yes, it would be much appreciated if PGI started to focus on optimizing the game engine rather than pumping out mech after mech, also rework most of the maps, cause of the ridiculous hitboxes. It's starting to get annoying to get my shots stopped by thin air.
Yes, new mechs are quite nice, cause it shows the devs care about the game by constantly adding new content, but it only increases the variety of the gameplay, not the quality of it.

Also, new 'Mechs aren't the "content" that will bring in more players. Actually adding real meat to this less than a skeleton of a 5 year old game will.

My PC runs every other game on high or ultra high, i7+ 1070ti with no problems, but it runs like poo in this game. Constant frame rate fluctuations -anywhere from 60- 15, and almost every game it just stops for a second or 2 for no reason.... all the time I watch my resource usage and it NEVER reaches 50% on either CPU or GPU, really disgusted with it.

sounds like mwo has the same problems older games have now. They were programed to use certain hardware which had hardware specific things. As newer tech comes out those older hardware specific things are replaced. I find it a pain to get emulators to work a bit in dosbox and even with older hardware you some times have better luck using old hardware and now un supported os.
i've got an old hp laptop for $200 that I don't even recall the hardware specs but my 2012 pc is a super computer in contrast as I use win 98se on that old thing as a 'retro' box for old programs. I'd have to dig it out of storage. I have both physical os disks of 98se and win 7 I bought and kept ages ago.
My youtube has videos of me using sup par hardware forcing mwo to run on laptops and pc from pawn shops. I think the worst I've managed was 5-10 fps on a celerton cpu with integrated video card. It really is sad that if you go by the minimal specs listed for mwo that you can literately use pawn shop computers to play the game at or under $400 easily. Your fps and visuals will suck because you will have to turn almost every thig to off or minimal. On the plus side none of that crappy 'cockpit glass.'
Edit my current outdated pc that I still use as my main because I'm too poor to upgrade any time soon.

Pretty sure MW5 will be a reboot of sorts. I am really hoping they relaunch with Unreal 4 at its core.
Err
Frankly that's fine with me, what happens to my mechs?
If I have to buy them again it's literally over for me; and something tells me for a majority of the remaining players.
Just saying.

How can a single-player game be a reboot of a completely multi-player one?

Same genre and combat, it has co-op multiplayer etc. Not everyone is solely focused on the PVP aspect of MWO, they just play it because it is actually the only Mechwarrior game available in any context. Personally i wouldn't be surprised if they justified the developing investment in MW5 to also swap MWO over the UE4. Just porting the game over would solve a lot of their issues and make development of content easier since UE4 is far easier to develop on then Cryengine.

If they DID do a UE4 port they would have to port all accounts over. The game would literally lose its player base if they tried to launch another multiplayer freemium game. No one would trust them with the new one based on the experience in the current MWO.
