LAMS seriously needs to generate less heat. I had it on a number of my mechs before, but since LRM performance sucks less overall now, even on cold maps, my LAMS cooks me alive! I have had it with my LAMS overheating and killing me! I have already started replacing all of my LAMS with regular AMS. Looking back at MW4, LAMS firing off was barely noticeable. It was balanced. Now...now it will cook you alive and that is so wrong.

Therefore I suggest lowering the heat to 1 per second at the most.

How many are you carrying per mech? i can understand if your carrying 3 but 1 shouldn't cook you too much.

Just one, yes. The thing is, if it is going off by itself non-stop and I have not fired my weapons yet, then it is not much of a problem. The problem happens when it is firing nonstop in the middle of a firefight or when I exit it to cool off my mech but continue to heat up instead. Therein lies the problem. LAMS is supposed to be a means of protection and an afterthought, not a means of suicide.

I voted Other to say it should be 2.5 heat. Any vote for 1 heat or less than 1 heat are basically asking for free infinite AMS, and flat out removes the point of standard AMS in most cases. LAMS is too hot right now for sure, but it should still have some cost to operate. If 2.5 heat proved to be too much, the argument for 2.25 heat could probably be made.

IF it were made 1 heat, range or DPS would have to be reduced by some amount, possibly both, or else it'd be an outright upgrade with virtually no determinable downside.
