direct lrms are bad compared to most other direct fire weapons
why do you feel the need to make lrms worse at what theyre already bad at?
its indirect lrms that are the problem

Clan Lrms were already nerfed for spread last patch, whereas both Clan and IS were "buffed" on heat (about a 9% reduction).

IDF missile tracking nerf can also be considered.
IDF missile tracking is atrocious right now.. even with full sensor tree.. Locks are lost literally less than a second after they are attained, and you just fire your full alpha. No sooner than the missiles clearing the tubes, no lock. :-(
Not to mention lock-on arcs.. NO way to torso twist without loosing lock, no LRM bending..
Further nerfs would be terrible.

I meant tracking strength, not tracking length.

Maybe this will make those LRM boats come out of their hideouts and share some armor.

Same goes for tracking strength. Its bad as it is. No nerf needed.

This is just mean.. And no, it would not make "those LRM boats" share armor for a multitude of reasons. We will not be your scape-goat pinata, sorry.
In fact, most of the bad LRM players will probably just do even worse.
For people who want to play as you suggested, there is already an option called ATMs.

But pgi want lrms to stay back because
not much bending after arc nerf, need to stay futher away to clear obstacles,
artemis not much worth after the spreadreduction nerf, so no big difference between direct and indirect,
more spamming at long range, its no problem to hit the hill at 900m, because lots of ammo,
bigger spread for streaming clan lrms leads to more tubes to counter it.
You see, the last changes on lrms are all going for the same direction:
Skillless indirect massspamming at long range.
Lrms were not bad before the artemis/arc nerf, they just needed some speed to make them ok.

I know most players will gasp at this, but... skilless indirect massspamming at long range is.. actually kinda familiar.. and is quite present in modern-day armies.
Take miniguns for example - literally a weapon that is designed to spray and pray on the target, suppress it and make sure it's dead not by precision, but by shear volume of lead on target.
Its messy, wasteful, and kinda dirty, but.. who would not want a minigun?
They are fun to use. Akin to RACs.. and, not unlike LRMs..
Just saying..
Skilless massspamming LRMs could be not what most players would like, but.. could be effective in it's own way.. and kinda fun.
Definitely a step away from GaussWarrior online..
