Just got a RTX 3080, decided to play this in 4K, i cannot see the main menu
Is it that hard to scale it according to the resolution? They at least have the in-game HUD coded to scale.
Why is the main menu that hard? I have to go in 1080p to use the mechlab
Unacceptable

ui scaling is trash. you use 4k you either have to squint a lot or change your resolution a lot. i mean just a setting to increase the font size a couple points would be great.

I game at 4k but it's on a 58" hdr10 panel so the squashed mechbay ui isn't really an issue. Not much you can do on smaller screens though past getting a pair of readers to put on when you need to see the tiny text. Quality gaming level 4k tv though are super cheap nowadays if you don't mind the 60hz limit which is typically all you will be running anyways at 4k due to hdmi 2.0 bandwidth restrictions.

You can even get them with adaptive framerate or g/freesync and 120hz.

seems every 4 or 5 years when i upgrade my display, i get one a couple inches larger. but there are manufacturing sweet spots that result in more bang for your buck. it relates to the price of glass stock and the number of different size pannels you can cut it up into without wastage. the acrylic for the backlight diffuser is probably also a limiting factor. so i haven't been going up as fast as id like. and i got a core components upgrade in line before i do that.

If your current rig can already push 4k 60 at your preferred settings then take a look at this.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DK5PZFY/

I bought the same model in 2018 as a replacement for my old big screen and it worked flawlessly with my 1080ti and made gaming so much more immersive. I only replaced it and retired it to the secondary pc because I wanted an even bigger screen for my primary gaming rig. It's a basic model but as long as you don't play any muscle memory twitch shooters that need a gazillion frames per second and .1 ms response times its more than enough for games like this and a treat for rts or open world games. Just make sure you can set it back around 4 or 5 feet from your chair.

Mwo doesnt care for your gpu. It is mostly sitting idle. Mwo needs single core cpu speed.

Yea good thing for nvidia's fast vsync that enables some sort of triple buffering and increases the fps limit to 120, without tearing, or else i would be stuck to 60 hz since i got scammed by LG, advertising that their B9 OLEDs can accept input from HDMI 2.1 standard.
The catch was that they can do 4K at 120 HZ only with HDR disabled in windows. That is right, they do 4K 120HZ in SDR...
Well the amount of money i wasted on this PC already makes a 30 euro worth of HDMI 2.1 8K cable to be pocket change at this point...

Thats why I like that rtings review site. They catch all the gotchas for you so you can buy with confidence especially since tv makers seem to have far lower marketing morals on their performance claims than pc panel makers. Many 4k tv advertise 120hz but don't clearly tell you that its a CMI gimmick and only for av inputs and not pc. I'm fine with 60hz though since my 1080ti is only able to push most games at 80~100 fps at that resolution. Kinda wish they made 1440p big screen tv as the 1080ti still completely dominates that res. Does anyone have a harder time aiming in 4K?? My mech’s torso is like driving a boat. Lots of over correcting and lack of responsiveness. I’m missing close to half my shots when I used to only miss like 25%.

I agree, you need a magnifying glass to read the text. Should be scaled.

Err...don't understand...

MWO does not offer 3440x1440 video setting, so are you just stretching your Windows to fit your very wide monitor?

35inches 3440x1440 is what I use. It's a curved ultrawide and offers excellent field of view, so it's what I recommend.

A number of games have this problem, sometimes even when you bring it up, it gets ignored.

1 - MWO suffers from tiny buttons, tiny text, bad UI elements. Scroll bars too, they are so small and hard to maneuver properly.

2 - Other games like Smite and Siege have the same issues including text.

3 - Even non-online games have this. Example, I played a demo of Zoria: Age of Shattering and two if its problems were tiny text and hard to use features like scroll bars and buttons.

It is like some game industry standard now to make games with tiny text and other hard to use features. I miss the days of readable text and easy to use controls or giving you the option like when Neverwinter Nights gives you the option of using tiny text for those who can read it or checking an option to increase text size.

You don't see video settings your monitor doesn't support. MWO supports this resolution just fine.
