Does someone have an exact description of what this achievement entails for the FP event. I've countered ECM mechs in every way possible, UAV, ECM counter, NARC, PPC, Tag... Got locked damage either myself or a teammate using LRMS/Streaks and any other weapon. And still I don't have this achievement unlocked, this is driving me crazy like the Defense Kills for the first even.

What exactly do I need to do, or have i already done it and this thing is just bugged.

Could be bugged. never worried about it though, as the rewards for that achievement is meager.

1. You need to get a counter-ECM on the target.
2. Then it needs to be hit by lockable friendly missiles such as LRMs, ATMs, and/or streaks.

UAVs are rather unreliable (when it moves outside of UAV range, you immediately lose counter-ECM. So your best bet is grab a Raven with NARC, and mark those ECM mechs.

I got it done. I'm not sure which match did it for me, but I did on several occasions flip my ecm to counter, lock the enemy light and had teammates rain lurms on them.

Don't even have to switch ECM, you can do it with UAVs, I think.

I have done this numerous games, achievement just wont unlock.

I got it with a Raven with a streak 2.

Ran up with counter ECM and shot a few missiles. Done and done.

I've done that too , for like 5 different games, it's just not giving me the unlock, i'm more than sure its bugged and its handed our randomly as opposed to when it should be.

Are you countering the mech that has the ECM or just random mechs under the ECM umbrella?

You gotta be under 90m range to counter with ECM AFAIK.

Also, not sure if it's still that way, but I remember an event where you had to wait to get 'low signal' before switching your own ECM to counter for it to count. Which didn't make any sense but apparently programming is hard, yo.

It doesn't work if somebody else has already locked the target.

You need to be the one getting the initial lock.

The hardest part is keeping that lock till someone else hits it.

I was really struggling with this one..

Brought a whole dropdeck of ECM mechs, and was countering up a storm.. alas, nobody would shoot the countered mechs, so it took me like 6-8 drops to finish that one alone..

For the future probably the easiest way imo to get it is to be an ecm light (fast-ish one), find an enemy ecm mech, and sit on their *** till they're dead. If lucky, your team did some of the damage to them and gave you the bonus. If not, rinse and repeat. Light mech for agility/dodging and for hunting down and getting close to the ecm mech, especially if it's also a light.

Having alot of problems with this one as well, pretty sure I should have gotten it a few times now with my light ECM mech in counter mode. Just hope they never do janky event objectives like this in the future.

Not seeing many mechs running ecm, and not many people directly engaging those with ecm with what is required to get the counter ecm lock. At least it is only a mug for this event.

Anyway ways to counter ECM

Active Probes
ECM in disrupt mode
UAV
Narc if applied to the ecm mech and no other ecm mech near it
Tag (Maybe?)
Nailing the target with a form of PPC

Incursion and Conquest are good game modes to complete this on. You need to be running an ECM mech. Engage enemy ECM mech within their ECM bubble, swap to counter ECM, and hold lock while a team mate rains LRMs or Streaks on the target.

Your top speed ideally should be greater than the target mech so that you can maintain counter ECM range. Running Stealth Armor to sneak behind enemy lines might also help, but I tested this with straight ECM (don't forget your skill tree ECM upgrades).

It might help to wait until you are within the enemy ECM bubble to switch your ECM to counter mode. This should be easier now with the 120m radius buff to ECM (up from 90m) in the August 21 patch. It didn't seem to matter if you were first to target the mech, so long as you were the first mech with ECM to counter the enemy ECM mech.

If the enemy mech swaps to counter mode ECM it won't work. TAG, NARC, and UAVs will not pop this objective. You need an ECM mech and you need to counter an enemy ECM mech successfully while a teammate successfully hits them with lock on missiles. If the enemy mech is running stealth armor, kill it and find a plain old ECM mech. It will be difficult to maintain lock on Stealth Armor mechs if they cycle in and out of stealth before the friendly missiles can reach the target.

I wasn't able to get this during the Skirmish, Domination, and Assault portions of the Faction Play event, because there weren't many opportunities to isolate an enemy ECM mech. Incursion mode dropping in an ECM light first and working on batteries ended up with the best one and done results for this seemingly elusive personal objective. Conquest mode should also work well to isolate an enemy ECM mech.

Like the OP, I've pretty much tried everything: counter-ECM, UAV, TAG, NARC, PPC, me hitting the target ECM mech with my own LRMs or Streak SRMs while I have them in a counter-ECM state, waited for allies to hit them while they're in a counter-ECM state. Absolutely no progress on this challenge.

Pretty sure at this point that it's bugged.

You don't get it for you own, you only get it if an ally locks on and you were the first to counter the ecm mech.

I popped many uav's as well, so it is possible that could have done it. Unfortunately I played a half dozen or so matches before checking the event page to see it was completed, so I'm not sure which action actually did it.
