"border battles"? In the 4th Succession War, the LCAF conquered 53 worlds from the Combine (and 13 from the League), losing only two to the Combine. To put this into perspective, the AFFS conquered 71 worlds from the Confederation, losing 15 to the Combine. (36 more worlds seceded from the Confederation as direct result of the Davion offensive; 19 with Tikonov and 17 with St. Ives).
The Lyran Operation Götterdämmerung into the Combine was serious and big operation, and it succeeded beyond everyone's expectations: one has to keep in mind the LCAF were considered an inferior force, barely capable of distracting the DCMS.

If anything, it is insulting that this high water mark of Lyran military prowess is reduced to some sub-event of an event.

And I am not even adressing the question that "Hanse contracted the mercenary unit Wolf's Dragoons to defend his border" had absolutely nothing to do with the Lyrans at all. This is so crazy and anti-Lore. It's reason number 211 why I don't play FP unless there is an event. And even if there is an event... sigh.

There is no penalty for changing faction or breaking contract ever now. EVER!
The only caveat is that you need to run your 10 probation matches as a loyalist to start accruing LP still.

That might just be the reason PGI is hanging onto probation matches, it ensnares people into scouting.

I now understand I can temporarily change factions without penalty as long as I play the 'probation' matches.

Yeah, normally I don't mind, we hop factions some as it is. Just in this case, we're switching factions repeatedly in a short period of time. It would make sense if skipped probation for that period.

Probation does not affect your event progression, only bonus C-Bills and LP you get from your faction contract after playing matches.

Of course it is a pity that Fractions make no sense, if you can change them to any event ... because you could make only quickplay matches where you choose his Fraction at will as in Battlefield.Wem interested in grenzgrenzläufe or battles for a faction or who owns a planet the next time he plays / plays for a second? the last RPG aspect is lost. ? I know the probation isnt part of it.
But it is anoying in this 1 day switch.

Too bad this version of MWO never got the critical mass to have a good FP base and have that as the centrale point of the game.
IGP PGI Cry-engine madness mostly imho.

its not a Engine problem ...seeing the FP League Systems with the old MW4 or MWLL...for Dreams you must have the Crew with experience to fullfill this ..

That's the wrong question, what you should be saying is why do loyalist's get shafted, and not allowed to take part in any form or Faction play during events, unless they swap factions, which is the exact opposite of um...
