Havnt been posting much on the forums, but been a battletech fan all my life, i was assuming you meant this card series by wizards of the coast. I bought out most of my local gaming stores inventory 5 years back and loved opening hundreds of packages, hoping to find some gooders! lol

I still have a decent collection of it. My favorite deck was the Masakari Massacre. Basically had close to 20 Warhawks in it. Not very fast or practical as deck designs went, but still fun to play.

I only played with a few friends back in high school, or the deck probably isn't all that effective...but my Wolf deck sounds similiar.

A binary of Timber Wolves mixed with a star of Ice Ferrects. Could actually pump out a couple Timber Wolves *a turn* with the 'Gray Wolf' out- Ulric Kerensky effectively doubled your resources.

Sometimes I even put Widowmaker with a Redline Pilot out in one turn. The deck didn't have many tricks to it, it was an attempt at a straight up Clan type force. I think the only tricks it had was Phelan and Vlad working together (ironically) and Surprise Reinforcements to bring Widowmaker into fights it normally couldn't get into.

I have my cards in storage. LOVED the HELL out of this game. In my opinion, the best TCG/CCG I've played in my life. I quit magic for this game when it came out.

miss my original black/red pip die that came with the original starters thought :) no longer have them.

Favorite deck I built was my Star League Pilot deck. wrecked tournies with that.

Other favorites included Ghost Bear Dash, and LRM Boat deck (cannot remember the faction I used)

Never had this card game in Russia =(
Does anyone have a rulebook? Could give a try to computerize it

This is not the Battletech CCG, but it`s much easier to computerize.

now, are you talking about the old battletech game? or is there a newer mechwarrior ccg? if you are talking about battletech i did play it, but there were several things about it i didnt think were thought out very well...for one thing, the resource management system was kinda screwed up, and I could never get used to the use of the "resource pile" (your deck) as your life

I think I still have my cards somewhere. Placed 4th in the first Battletech TCG World Championships at GenCon with my Ryoken + Elemental Points deck.

I played in that too. I ran an evil airstrike deck back then.

Solid card game with a great resource management setup. (Your deck was all the supplies available to your unit/nation/etc) Sort of mashup of Magic: The Gathering and the original Star Wars card game. There was Magi Nation came along a few years later and basically used the same resource system too.

The Battletech CCG was definitely in the top 5 CCGs ever in my opinion. It had great pace, diversity and balance for most of it's lifespan. The only area I felt it was lacking was artwork, but I was easily able to live with that. An online version of it would be interesting to see sometime. I think it could be very viable to do something with it for Piranha down the road. Use an approach with MTG Online aspects combined with Legends of Norrath from Everquest. It seems like it wouldn't be overly difficult to tie it into the MWO accounts for paying for content and logging into the game. I found it surprising how fun Legends of Norrath was back when I played Everquest. Playing a few games was an enjoyable break from playing EQ. I don't really know how much I'd be into the combining the cross game rewards that Everquest and Legends of Norrath had, but even that does have some interesting possibilities for MWO, as long as it were kept to purely aesthetic gains in MWO (unique paint scheme, titles for your pilot persona, little fun things along those lines). Acquiring a special card to use in the CCG for some accomplishments in MWO could be nice too. I'm not saying this would be a huge moneymaker, but I do think it could be viably profitable because the development required for it is so much less than a game like MWO, and the rules and card designs have already been created. It also fits into the pay for content style of product delivery perfectly. The only real showstopping problem I could see is getting the licensing to use the game. You would think that even that should be reasonable, as a chance for Wizards of the Coast to make any amount of money on royalties from a game they let die really costs them nothing.

Seems to me that I have a few unopened booster boxes from the unlimited, MW, C, and A sets out in the storage unit. Finding players hasn't happened in a few years.

Now I use the cards in the RPG for visual-**** (assistance. !$@#$ filters) and events...

Played it all the time in HS. Found the cards again about 2 years ago when I moved again, couldn't bring myself to throw them out even if I hadn't played in years.

I loved BT Card game! I still have my IS deck. Actually my most successful decks where all vehicles...cheap and quick to build, toar up some Clanner decks in my day. I wish I was in a area to play people again.

I was also at GenCon in 99. I was #1 in the northeast region, but my record was inflated by a lot of players in my area who weren't very good. I ended up doing "mediocre" at the WC, but I still had a blast. I have 11 or 12 decks constructed right now still.

And yes, the card art was/is awesome.
