Hello,
I have a question and I am not sure how else to say it. So
Here goes:
1) Is MWO a pay to win setup?
2) Why are Camo, Paints, colors ($5 minimum) in at least US Dollars?
3) We are Buying Mechs at $10- 45 Dollars(US) ( Enough for a New PC Game) and yet
We only have 1 color (Basic). Why? Can’t we get with Each Mech Purchase a Color?
Starting with Basic Red, Blue, Green etc. etc.?? Or is MWO just about making $$
I am a bit confused there are other MMO’s that have drastically lower cost for “ Specialty Items”
But I for one in the LAST Month Alone spent over $100 dollars and would like a good answer
As to why we don’t get a color with Purchase. Most don’t care about Cockpit items, but Paint
And or Camo patterns would allow folks to customize the ones they use. And I like tie game, But I may have to
Stop playing because of the Cost to setup a Mech. In all the Other MechWarrior Franchise games, they came
With the ability to paint or camo all of them at 0 cost.
Curious and Concerned

You can get MC by playing events. Get enough, and you can save for a pattern or a color. Besides, One-Shot patterns are cheaper and more efficient, unless you're someone like me who sells every Mech that gets blown up. XP

I just don't understamd How when We pay " Real Money" ($5-45) we can't get a Color with the Buy. There are other MMO's that do that stuff. Why Not MWO?

Nope, you can purchase and upgrade/level all top performing mechs without spending money. Most are available for cbills and the MC required for the few hero mechs can be acquired through events.

Don't know if i understood your question but if you are asking why stuff cost 5$ minimum you need to know that PGI puts everything on sale up to 50% regularly. So the regular prices are only for the impatient, most players will buy the stuff they need during sales. And when combined with another sale on MC most items become quite cheap.
That's a very common business practice seen everywhere. For example with movies. Want to see a blockbuster now on a big screen? Pay a hefty price to go to the cinema. Want to see it a few months later? Buy or rent it for a moderate price. Want it totally free? Wait up to 4 years to watch it on TV.
With movies and MWO the price is only a matter of how patient you are.

Because not everyone needs colors as much as you do. For example i prefer warhorns (a cockpit item) over colors. So PGI added premium time to their mechpacks because it has more value for the majority and especially new players.
Also you do get colors and other stuff if you preorder mechs early, they need to give some incentive to do so. And if you don't want to spend money you can wait until a new mech gets available for cbills which is about half a year after release.
Just like with movies. Want it now, pay. Want it free, wait a while.
BTW: If you already spent 100$ then obviously PGI made everything right. A smart consumer ask for discounts or money-saving hints before they buy.

You did realize that MWO is a free game that needs expensive servers and manpower for the monthly patches? This is not comparable to older singleplayer mechwarrior games where you had to pay before you can play. So of cause the devs need to earn some money elsewhere to keep the game running. And here camo and colors kick in because they are not needed to play the game.
So the cost to setup any mech for highest combat performance is 0$ if you play some matches to earn the required XP and cbills. And because of events you can even get the colors and camo for free.
You only need to pay anything if you are impatient and want something now. It's your decision and that's how all free games with a certain quality out there work.
