Well, not a Spider per se but it is practially it.
The new reward Javlin got six ballistic, two energy slots and six JJ.

CCQ 3: Why is Machine Gun damage so low?
A: Partly due to the nature of how MGs work in the TT rules, partially due to how we chose to make it useful. When equipping a MG, keep in mind that it is not meant to burn through armor but is very useful for tearing up internals (crits). Bumping MG damage will turn it into a laser that can be kept on with no heat penalty until it runs out of ammo. Now imagine the devastating effect that a 6 MG spider could do to the back of an Atlas! We are still investigating balance of the MG but don’t expect any significant increase in damage.

Lol.

No love for the only Rifleman variant in lore that doesn't suck giant balls?

The stock loadouts don't really matter that much since we've got a mechlab here.

The Roflman should be okay but I think you might run low on tonnage trying to fit in an acceptable engine (even when using an XL) plus JJs plus your weapon payload (probably either twin big ballistics or twin PPCs of some kind, need some heatsinks and backup weapons for the latter).

Ultimate poptart is currently the twin ERPPC nipple Summoner. Night Gyr would be the king if it weren't so clumsy.

i suppose you could buy a wolfhound or panther hero for $10, not that those are even remotely interesting. i onw one already but there is the k9 as well. or perhaps a flea pack for $5 more. there are also a lot of clan light heros you can buy for $10. i own the cinder, fury and purifier, but there is also the shard and ebon dragon. i figure the minimum buyin to get all 3 lower tier mechs is only about $27 (not bad for 5 cbill boosted mechs and a wad of mc), but i already qualify for the javelin. its still a possibility that i might part with $20.

Unfortunately this Javelin variant is DOA in my opinion. The normal Javelin variants work great as extremely mobile SRM harassers that can dish a lot of punishment, but like the Spider, too much of the damage it receives goes to the legs. I play the Spider and Javelin, and their legs just fall out from under them. The Javelin is viable because of it's excellent hardpoints, hardpoint locations, damage output, and mobility, which increasing face time with the use of machine guns will render useless.

its possible, especially with only 2 energy hardpoints. though i figure you can put a lams in it and use it as close support for the first half of the game and then use it as a core hunter in the end. still dont underestimate the power of 6 heavy machine guns and 2 ermls. so pretty much an arrow except with the speed to use the loadout.

If you're gonna use HMGs or even normal MGs you might as well just use normal ML for a bit faster firing (you're gonna be in CQB either way).

Why? The same issue comes up that your MGs are close range, so you'll want the vanilla MPL (or whatever Pulse Laser) for its better heat and cooldown values (X Pulse would likely follow the trend of more range equals more cooldown).

I'd totally like more NuTech, I'm just saying that this particular build won't be helped much by it.

I mean, ECM Warhammer.

That said I'd much prefer some BattleAxe or Hammerhands action Posted Image.
